An interesting question that came up.
I'd like to know where Infinity gets her money. If donations are completely voluntary she must be funding this one of 4 ways:
1) Has her own money-making machine
2) Has a wealthy backer
3) Sells GTC
4) Buys isk off ebay.
5) The voluntary donations are so large that it allows her to fund the current situation (3 decs) and go up even further.
In any of these cases, she's got to be serious about turning over 500M-1B for a situation where pilots keep their earnings and may donate if they choose.
So Infinity, which is it? How do you get the money to fund alliance wardecs? Your idea is feasible, but I (and I think many people) would be interested to know it was above board. |

A lot of Privateers (myself included) are alts, with rich mains. If our main's corp or alliance is against this type of thing, its nice to log in with the Privateers for a little fun now and again, and a lot of mains help fund it.
It may look like pointless anarchy as there is nothing really to be gained (ie, no territory or riches), but it is fun, and a good way to wind down after a few hours raping roids or patrolling some obscure 0.0 system. And so what if we take losses or our killboard looks crap compared to some of the uber-alliances ones, as I said, it's a fun way to wind down for the experienced with alts, and a good introduction to pvp for the new player that wants to jump in at the deepend.

I've loved the last 6 weeks in Privateers - the corps loose organisation, pick up and play style no rules and zero commitments realy suits me.
As far as the KTD ratio goes - pah - the boards are for fun, not to weed out bad PVP pilots. and besides - it looks like we dish out some pain to a few peoples wallets (including Zionas!)
I'm not to fussed about my losses - fly cheap, fly often, take risks, get shot @ - AND HAVING A BLAST DOING IT!! As long as I have a handfull of t1-tesco-value-fitted-cruisers kicking about I'm a happy man - even happier when I see that WT hauler warp into me @ 2k

Easy. Undock. Run 2 x 50 million isk lowsec Worlds Collide per day with an alt. Takes 2 hours of playtime. 700,000,000 per week.
I make a few hundred million per week looting alliance targets as pudding. Sometimes I hit the jackpot and get extra income. Sometimes not.

I would like to chime in and say thank you to Ziona aswell for giving me some great fun, and getting me out of my cloaker for awhile.
The alliance thing should be a blast. I thought there were a lot of targets with 3 alliances decd, but 10 should be right insane.
WRT the kill:death ratio, I'm probably still the #1 ship loser in the corp (by the time I stopped being arsd to post killmails) but I have inficted a heckofalot more isk than I lost.
Also, with the alliance, I excpect our losses to decrease and hauler kills increase, as it will no longer be possible for our enemies to have the "My War Targets" option on the map.

I hadnt looked at it like that - spies using the map to track us has been a problem so far.

For "0.0 alliances" Privateers seem to get rather a lot of empire kills against them.
Too many carebears hide behind alliances to avoid war decs and this should constitute grounds for a ban.

This kind of reminds me of the old "Letter of Marque" hence "Privateers" i guess im thinking along the line of " Currentlry offfering letters of marque for following alliances: Lots of money Alliance I-X"

Yeah thats basically what it was modeled on. You get nothing when you join and give nothing except the ability to kill the selected enemies - since concord is cool with it it basically comes down to state sponsored piracy aka privateering.

Hello love, I understand that this corp is all about using ur war decs and not about being a fully functional "corp" in a sense, but would it be unheard of if someone were to log on, give a wave in corp chat, and gang up somewhere to hunt down mutual war targets with corp mates who were strangers? I see the obvious danger in corp + gang + stranger, so that's why I ask...

This happens all the time. Ive found the corp a very friendly one; you can normaly find someone to gang with within a few systems if this is what you fancy. Intel is passed regulaly among corp and the noobs who jump right in to PvP can ask questions freely and get answers.
The spy issue means you have to be slightly wary about shouting what you are doing but thats the same in any war dec'd corp i suppose. In gang you can be a little more candid. The prevelance of spys and the paranoia this can create is a running joke in the corp tbh :)
If you are a regular face whos stuck with us for a while, you will of course be trusted more, but thats human nature
Some have a think about joining the alliance when it starts, or if ya cant wait come join the corp. We are open to all.
If you dont like us - then wardec us - teach us a lesson
