This is mainly for those in the 'know' and the DEV team themselves
My question is only if the races will ever MEAN anything? At this point there is no difference in the races other then there names. To the High end or high level SP player there race plays little or no concern to there actions.
And if there is a plan to make the races mean more then the location you start in game, is there a a dev chat (recent one) that talks about this and how they can do that and still keep the "crying and complaining" to a min from the people who didnt train there races ship skills? Example if a player flys only ravens and caldari missile boats but is Amarr.
And what role has the effective difficulty of making these changes effected the choices to NOT work on this before?
So thats what im wondering. And a FYI ... Im Amarr and have long ago "chosen" to NOT fly anything other then amarr with a exception mad for shuttles and early on (before amarr crusers were usefull) the thorax. Im not a strick RPer i just perfer to use Amarr ships (mainly cause i figured they wouldnt let the races become so useless)

It was a cornerstone concept of the game that you should be (gameplay-wise) only limited by your actions, not by attributes, race, bloodline nor sex. The only difference might be in time needed to do something, nothing else. If you want to go the Role-Play way, race might mean something, but then again only on the angle you take in roleplay. NOTHING ELSE.
You don't have to be a dev to know that, just use a bit of common sense. To answer your question (in the spirit of which was meant when asked, that is): "no". _____ -sig-

lol True but when the game started there were Race IDs in the attribute info. so that is why i was asking. But I can see a dev team useing that thought for why those Race Ids have left game. I still think at the very least race should effect something but like you said thats prolly the RPer in me
anyways id still like to read a blog or something if the Devs ever talked about it

if I remember older versions of the question properly, ones that got gold bars of love, the general word was they had COnsidered a little boost, like Amarr get slightly better fillintheblank flying amarr ships. eventually scrapped to give people more options and prevent Everyone from choosing caldari. :)

In short, and as mentioned above, the only real difference between the races is you starting attributes, and thus your training times. And even that is only a minor difference as all races have the same total number of stats.

I don't like this idea because I chose a Caldari character, but chose to spec in Matari vessels. When I made the character I had no idea which race of ships I would be using today.
I would however like to see some racial skills that would boost favourable attributes for your chosen race of ships, while nerfing your ability in other races ships.
