Simple solution?
Remove ctrl-q functionality. When you press the escape key enforce an x second delay before being able to "quit game".

True, but it makes it more difficult / time consuming which gives others more time to aggress etc. Those couple of seconds could make a lot of difference - it wouldn't be as risk free as it is now.
Bottom line is that whilst the proposal isn't a perfect solution it does improve the situation and has no downside that I can think of.
Edit: Forgot to quote - this is referring to my "remove ctrl-q" post on page 2.

Those of you wondering why I enjoy following the threads by the coalition so closely and what you've done to garner my attention, this is exactly it. It's the complete and total hypocracy. Your entire war against Red Alliance has been based off of them being exploiters, farmers, cheaters, bad sportmen, and you've said it so many time it's become true. But I know for a fact the coalition has done log-on traps, ctrl+qs out of bubbles, uses stabs, and pretty much does everything they accuse Red Alliance of doing under the weak guise "they're doing it too, so I can too!".
At the higher levels of an alliance, it's understandable you don't want to admit your corporation/alliance does this kind of stuff, but just because you don't see it going on doesn't mean no one is doing it. As I said before I edited my second post in this thread at Eddz's request, taking the attitude "lalala no one in my corporation/alliance is doing this" does nothing to solve the problem. You need to hold your members accountable if you truely care about solving this problem before CCP is forced to. Otherwise these tactics are going to continue to escalate until people are just outright cheating to gain an advantage.
Edit: Yes, I know this is -V- and not LV, but the point still stands. Right now, -V-'s tactics are as dirty as Red Alliance's tactics are as dirty and LV's tactics are as dirty as Goonfleet's tactics.
I think my comment stands.

Eddz, if you rewrote your opening post removing all reference to LV, -V-, Goons and RA etc it would lose no validity at all, and be all the better for it.
And be less likely derailed.....
By naming specific alliances, and not providing (to date) any significant "proof" about the organisations you point the finger at (most especially those who haven't been accused of this before) you end up with comments that are both accusatory and emotive. People have a right to defend themselves, and their organisations, against this.
As for the spirit in which the opening post was written:-

What we need is a simple sticky at the top of this forum with posts from, and only from, alliance / corp leaders saying something along the lines of "As the leader of <alliance name> I state categorically that exploitative behaviour in the form of exp1, exp2, exp3 will not be tolerated in the alliance that I lead. Proven such acts will result in punishment up to and including expulision from the alliance".
The difficult bit will be in agreeing on exp1, exp2 and exp3. Failing that, we could just have a thread, again with posts from each alliance/ corp leader (and only alliance leaders) stating what behaviour they do tolerate.
Either of these would bring some transparency to this in terms of expecations.
