I am a minmatar only pilot. Is an AF capable of tanking angel 0.0 spawns for mining. My guess is a jaguar. Has anyone attempted this with success, is it possible?
Thanks

Yes, speed tanking I dont see this term used much anymore but go fast enough and the spawns wont be able to hit ye/ ---------
I would love to see a bounty pilot get some friend or an alt to pod them to collect the isk if that resulted in a two week delay before their 'personality' was uploaded to a new clone. |

a jag shouldnt have much of a problem tanking much in 0.0 provided you maintain transversial/speed/etc. but let me get this straight.....mining....in an AF??

my enyo can tank guristas permanently, while stationary... of course they do only kin/thermal and are heavily missile based, but I don't see how a retri, enyo, or jag would have trouble tanking anything...
against non-missile users you just need to keep moving to make sure the guns hit you rarely, fit a nos and an active repper/booster, and you'll be fine against all low sec spawns...
hell, a crusader can "tank" any blood spawn with just an AB

AF protects vs NPC while a second account mines. ---------

Exactly, then the miners dont get popped on respawn. It is best done sitting still and away from miners. You would be better off in a Typhoon I think with t2 or faction hardeners. The best way to do it is to get some kind of permenant tank going with cap rechargers in the mids and a single large t2 rep. Tbh I never tried it against angels but if you get your resists up to 85-90 you should be fine. Maybe a t2 small shield booster with cap power relays in lows and the most energy effiecient hardeners or resistance amps you can find.

Nah, not even that is needed. Its quite easy to sustain a tank on angels while some1 mines, and ive seen it done many times. My best advice would be for you to get a typhoon, and fit as many heavy nos as you can, orbit the bses fast, maybe with a sustained ab. Also, id fit 2 expl hards, 2 kinetic hards, and 1 thermal hard, and either 2 LARs or 1 and a plate. But if you really want to use an AF, then yea transversal would be key.

If you can do something like this with a Tempest or the Maelstorm, you should be fine.
Dominix
6 Miner II
Large Shield Booster II 2 Invulnerability Field II 2 Eutectic I Capacitor Charge Array
6 Power Diagnostic System II Co-Processor I
6164.439946875001 cap, +54.99/s, -50.85/s
Perma tank and perma mine (about 93 m3 per beam). Only angels i avoid tanking would be Saints... but those EMP/thermal destroyers or cruisers aren't a problem.

armor tanked domi with cap rechargers in the mid is usually more effecient.

Against Angels? 0% vs 60% starting point... That works just fine for me, so i won't bother. On the maelstorm it would be a good setup again, and you would get more miners (assuming you can get the CPU...). On a tempest you could add NOS on the 2 extra highs so you don't need as much cap.

Deja vu, third time this week I post this setup:
4x Dual Light Pulse II (Conflag) 1x Small Diminishing Nos
1x 1MN Afterburner II
1x Small Armor Rep II 1x Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II 1x Energized Thermic Membrane II 1x Heatsink II 1x Cap Power Relay I
For real goodness, swap the AB for Gistii A-Type, you'll love it (price should be in 15-20mil range for it though). And yes, it works just fine. Remember to bring longer range crystals for tacklers who orbit out of conflag range.

How do you hope to kill a BS spawn with Dual Light Pulse IIs is beyond me. Even if you can eat through its tank (which i highly doubt) it is going to take you ages to kill a BS. If you want to kill BSs in a Retribution you got 2 options which i have successfully used, both can kill a BS but one kills faster than the other obviously.
4x Medium Pulse Laser II (5th high empty) 1x AB II 1x SAR, 2x Local Hull Nanofiber, 2x Heat Sink II (edit)
or if you got the cash and you trust your piloting skills
4x Medium Pulse Laser II (5th high empty) 1x AB II 1x SAR, 1x Local Hull Nanofiber, 3x True Sansha/Dark Blood Heat Sink
I personally used the first setup until i could afford the second one. Take out the frigates first as they will hit you the most, then cruisers and BSs by keeping transversal velocity high. If you can afford it/don't mind paying you can use Conflag crystals for faster killing but Multicrystals do the job just fine.
Energized Membranes and Cap power relays are for pu**ies
