Have you got a time machine ?
Eve has only been out 5 months so its difficult to tell whether it did survive 12 months :)
Oooh Im so pedantic.
And the answer is yes I think it will. I read they have purposely not marketed it as heavily as they could have to ensure it was bug free.
True or not ? who knows.
Defintely need to keep attracting new subs tho.

I'm sure it'll survive it, but CCP do need to do something to arrest the slow population decline. Hopefully they've got a nice lil' pot of money with "Marketing" written on it for use after the Tech II 'feature' patch - Carp Riddell - CEO, Innsmouth Shipping - Proud Member of Curse Alliance

Edited by: Artean on 05/11/2003 16:44:03 Yep, no doubt; the server population has declined. Though, that doesnt imply that the amount of paying customers has declined too.
I think there are a vast number of subscribers that are waiting for all the new stuff and features to be added to the game, and, just like my self, sticks for now with training of ones character.
Hopefully, when T2 etc arrives, the server population will increase again...
...and: yes, EVE will survive. |

Edited by: KIAInkZ on 05/11/2003 16:59:46 We've had many of our corp members that left a while back return now.
I think the main reason for this is that the corp is making it's mark, and we've had a very interesting story for the last few months.
This game is what you make it, but can be frustrating at first. I think it needs to be made more interesting in the earlier stages, to keep the more impatient people playing. ---

The more impatient players tend to be PvP/PKrs, those can be replaced much easier than the ones with longterm actual plans for their actions and careers, brokers, merchants or whatnot.

Agree with most of the above. Although I think a slow decline is always going to happen in the absense of no new content. I don't think CCP would be suprised by this at all and it's probably in their spreadsheet!
