Really? Ever concidered that just maaaaaybe AXE would be more happy to tell you what happened if you convoed them in secret instead of screaming an apparent big loss/mistake/fireworksdisplay out on the forums for everyone to hear about it? Leave the smacking to the parties involved.

A loss of this nature should be persued on the public boards. Had KIAEddZ not brought this to the boards individuals like myself would not of heard of this horrendous loss. I would appreciate any battle report on what happened.

I gotta say that I kind of agree with this. Not for any, "OMG AXE GOT OWNED!!!" nonsense, but just because a lot of us enjoy hearing about fights that other people are having. It's a game and an event like this, no matter who won or lost, is pretty cool to hear about.
The video I've seen showed little to no support fleet for the AXE dreads. The AAA people I've talked to confirm this.
Did the AXE support fleet get chased off? Did they just not have one in system?
I'd be curious to know both sides without a lot of crap. Yeah, it's the forums, but here's to hoping! -

Its being discussed in the hello AXE! thread. Seems like there was a support fleet that got lagged out jumping in/to the POS (?) and got BBQ'd by the POS (25 kill mails by the POS alone was quoted). But yeah, I didn't know this had happened myself and only *then* went to read the looooooooong thread.

We need a map indicator to show how many ships are logged off in a system tbh

I was in a covert watching them attack the first pos, and there was no support there at all, apart from someone flying a merlin.

I was thinking of the same thing, ASCN lost 7 dreads and now AXE has lost 8 thats 15 dreads dead in a week (that we know of, could be others) and they take a week to make
Place your orders now and you will have one before the rest ----------

Every mass logon lags the total system. We had this also earlier this day in an engagement. We camped station and suddenly AAA logged 30 - 40 guys in. The lag was really bad. 50 - 60 seconds from pressing warp to actually warping away... The login trap lag together with the lag of 50 - 100 fighters and a fleet of 50 - 60 AAA at the pos would have lagged EVERY support fleet to death.

I can't believe people actually log out on an FC's order to wait at the login screen for hours.
AAA : seriously...play the game instead of trying to exploit every darn thing: people like you mess up games all the time.
AXE : Not sure if its possible but wasn't there any indication of groups of 10 people logging off at the same time or anything half an hour before they logged back in?

Yeah, logon traps ftl
Nontheless, who doesn't expect this from AAA? It's their tried and true method of dealing with these kinds of things. Saw it during my brief time in Huzzah, seeing it now.
To me, no matter how you spin it, it's still exploitation of the game. I don't give a flying @$#% about "evolve or die" etc etc etc. I didn't need to use aimbot to get headshots in CS just so I could "evolve" and be better than the clown WITH the aimbot. It's making the game not fun to play no matter which way you spin it.

ccp should offer full and prompt reimbursements for results of log-on 'traps.' on large scale i would call them log-on 'exploits' because of the effect it has on the server, especially with the great unfair disadvantage it drops on anyone assaulting a pos...but thats just my own personal opinion.
but yeah ccp should offer reimbursals for those victimized in log-on 'traps.' I mean if they have that many people rdy to defend a pos theres not much need to do a 'trap' as such to defend it, it would seem its just a way to ensure the most enemy losses if not 100% through exploit of the server's capabilities. Its not playing the game, its playing the server.
eh people do it tho... : /
i'd still like to see the video for myself, not only to see what happened exactly, but its also one of the bigger fireworks displays ive heard of, not sure anything can top the RA cap ship pwnage video but who knows.
pls note these are my views on these tactics, not on any said parties involved. i understand many people believe that as long as something is not illegal its fair game. The 'all is fair in love and war' deal, something which leads many to victory.
I myself stand by Sophocles' 'Rather fail with honor than succeed by fraud.' And while log on traps may not technically be fraudulant...theyre certainly not honorable tactics by my standards. but i guess my standards are mine, and only mine.

Why? The GM's and Eve Dev's have stated that login traps are perfectly valid tactics. Even if their game can't handle it.
