Twisted........... I like mad robots.
The whole concept of giveing anything like a computer or robot a full and working AI seems to me the ultimate folly.

This chronical explains alot of the insane behaviour ingame drone exhibit 
In fact I wouldnt be surprised if one day one of my hamemrheads tried to bore a hole through my ship beucase it couldn'd find the entrance to the drone bay

I'll be honost with you, I believe the horror touches detract from the story.
Killing off a woman in a horrible way is actually rather cliche as a horror trick to evoke a reaction.
I liked the last chronicle much more.

Fantastic story. For the first time it does feel exciting to come and read eve chronicles again.
Abraxas, with your love for horror and superb style, I can only hope some love for Sani Sabik "Blood friends" will appear soon  Now that would be awesome...

The threat of death, whether to men, women or livestock, is one of the underpinnings of the entire horror genre. The trick is in the buildup, and you'll notice that this story consists almost solely of buildup.
And on that subject, SPOILER SPACE...
The point of the story, as the title indicates, is to present a slightly skewed version of the birth cycle. The three rooms the drone passes through correspond to the three trimesters that, taken together, compose the gestation period of a human being. For each room, all the actions taken by the drone correspond to what a human fetus would do at the same time. Thus, the pincer grabbing the glass is a reflection of a human baby learning to use its hands and grasp things; the oil drops in the cameras reflect when the baby's tear ducts start to work; the chemical filaments trailing from its back correspond to a thin covering of hair that a baby grows, then sheds (hence the procedure in the next room where it casts off the filaments), and so on.
And that's it for this week. Lord willing and the creek don't rise, the next item will be posted later today. Note that it's a short story and will likely be posted in that section rather than the chronicle section.
