Halo on xbox (FPS without a mouse ftl)
Counter Strike (Average player age 9 average iq 50-60)

Any "realistic" FPS (If I want real I'll go to the gun range)

These games are probably what i would list as being the most influential to me. particuly original Red Alert and Duke Nukem 3D without those i wouldnt be playing pc games. and i guess the one i got most enjoyment out of is Baldurs Gate II. Goldeneye is listed because it is simply one of the greatest games ever made nomatter what you like playing sittign down and playing on that 4way split screen with some friends and blowing each other and some AI up, was awesome.

Some you need to play them in order.
F.e. Homeworld or half life you need to play the original to get you wanting to pl,ay the sequel.
Play the sequel first and it doesn't quite shine as shiny as the other way around (if you catch my drift) as well as making the original look dated

Another interesting aside:
The smell of butane gas always makes me think of Half Life and Opposing Forces, as the christmas i got the game, our boiler broke and we had gas fires everywhere

Company of heroes is extremly overrated IMO.
Faces if war is much better IMO.
As for games eveyone should play.
