Try it, it's fun, and a good work out. I like Stepmania (Stepmania.com) Shenmue, I if you can find it, definitley II. The dub work is HORRIBLE, and makes me want to stab the voice actors, but the storyline and puzzle solving is definitley worth it. Also, where do sailors usually hang out? 4chan. Not technically a game, but still incredibly win.

It's turn based, play vs a human opponent. Lively community, never a shortage of games, and it fits in well around a busy life as you can send a turn in when convenient to you. -- ombeve
