What's the hitpoints on the various missile types?

Anti-missile defenses are defender missiles, and smartbombs, both of which do a certain amount of damage, with the larger missile types being able to withstand "hits" from the smaller versions of these defenses.

Rockets: 10 Light Missiles: 15 Heavy Missiles: 30 Cruise Missiles: 50 Torpedoes: 240 Citadel Torpedoes: 650
Note that the skill that increase missile damage etc also effect defender missiles.

Thanks for the numbers.
What I don¦t understand is why people are complaining about Defenders. Since a Defender does 76 damage, they will easily take out all missiles except torpedoes. Or is it something that I¦m missing?

defenders have a hard time hitting missiles as it is atm. you won't be able to intercept rockets, light missiles or cruise missiles or at least the probability is very low.

but the missiles you throw at them only have 30 HP themselves

Not sure, but think if the cruise is launched from max range or near it. Your defenders have a good chance to intercepts the cruise missile. However I don't know the range of the defenders myself, and what I readed somewhere is that they also home in to the missile closest to you. Meaning you best don't launch a second defender when your first is still on the intercept course.
But indeed rockets are fast and pretty close range, before you know one is launched and the lag makes it so you will only be able to launch a defender just before the rocket hits making it unable to intercept.

So the problem with Defenders is not actually the stats, but how their behavior is programmed?

I would guess a lot of the issue is lag (latency). I.e. launch missile, and the time it takes to represent missile launch on your opponents PC, opponent time to click defender launch and reconcile at CCP and... too late.
I don't have a lot of experience with defenders (just starting to experiment with them now) but I would imagine that they would be decently useful with long range missile engagements (more time to impact) and almost usless in short range engagements like (guessing here) 10K or less. Maybe just spamming the icon would help...

I find they're fairly useless at less than 20km, but another problem is that they lock onto the nearest missile inbound to you. Until that missile is destroyed, any additional defenders fired will lock onto the same missile.
That is not a problem in itself, but in PVE you have multiple hostiles throwing missiles at you and in PVP, missile users fire in salvos.
In addition the ROF of defenders are directly related to the launcher you stick them in, therefore for optimal use, they need to be put into a rocket launcher.
Unless you find yourself in the unique situation where the opponent is only packing 1 or 2 cruise/torpedo launchers, there are currently better things to use in a high slot.

Yeah, the problem with defenders is that you have to manually activate them. As a defense against a weapon system, they're too twitchy / require too much manual work and player reaction time, to be effective. Same as smartbombs actually.
