I am a 2005 player and I camp.
There I said it, I am a camper.
Why do I do this?
Because i can't find a target any where else, and i can't get into high sec.
We are not infallable, we get attacked ourselves pretty much everytime we do it, and I actually tip my hat to the guys that rally and do this, keeps things spicy, they generally come in greater numbers and shoo us away.
I much prefer chasing people throught the belts and actually 1V1's or 3V3's but I find it extremely difficult to locate any of these people.
The gangs that generally chase us off are not from the same corps generally, but they band together to clear us away, once again hats off, it's what i would do.
While you say that no other play style inhibits other players play style, pretty much all playstyles inhibit someone elses in EvE.
If you strip a belt of roids the rest of people can't strip that belt.
If you clear a high lvl plex others have to wait for a respawn whenever that may be.
If you buy up all the trade items in a region , you stop someone else from doing that.
If I camp a gate i prevent SOME people from gaining acces to my pocket of space. strangely enough i am not the only person in the pocket, so i really cannot be inhibiting that many peoples play style.
I would love to have my alt AFK mine Ark in 0.0 without anybody stopping me from doing that, but hey somebody might shoot my hulk or covetor, dammit how dare they inhibit my chosen playstyle.
Everything in EvE is earnt through longevity in game , Social skill, Wits, or maybe through methods that i haven't even thought of.
So if my camp gets in the way of where you want to go, hey i'll let you through.
Oh do you want me to stop selling implants on the market too because its driving the price down, i would hate to reducee your profits somehow.
And i swear that if i ever pop a roid in the region of space i shall make a 10 page apology to you and hand over all the ore that i got from it. I didn't realise that had you got there first you were going to mine that roid yourself.
