First, CCP is not 'responsible' for your huge, free poster being folded. Second, the poster was free. Nobody paid any extra to get it. Third, every single magazine subscriber got one. Not just new subscribers, but every single one. There is no other publishing company in the world (as far as I know) who treats their customers that well. Fourth, a question. Would you guys prefer to not receive free posters, on the basis that they have to be folded and can not be rolled? Fifth, would you pay more for an anual, four-issue subscription if you knew that at some point in the year, it included a poster which was sent rolled in a tube, as a separate package? Sixth, would you like to see the Iron Tide poster in the EVE store? Printed on 200gsm Gloss Art stock, and mailed rolled in a strong tube? (I guess I know the answer to that one).
Ok, now please re-read carefully before shooting...
No offence....but this is a cop out. I really dislike the whole tone of that response. In fact I am straight out offended.
a) The mag is very expensive, so yes... I EXPECT to receive a good product.
b) It gets posted in a plastic bag. Now every single issue I have received to date (I live in Australia) has always come through trashed. Is it that much to ask to have at least some decent packaging for international packages. Even a bit of cardboard on each side would be better than nothing.
c) Personally the Iron Tide this was one of the reasons I signed up for a new subscription to the mag. I loved the pic and I was really looking forward to getting it. However, I might as well throw mine in the bin as it is trashed beyond saving. Its beyond the whole folding issue. Its got gashes, huge white marks along nearly every fold line and all sorts of scratches over it because of poor way it is sent out. Before the mags were mailed out there were many people asking to have the poster rolled and not one person was worried about paying more for this service. In this case it was just disregarded and the customers have been told to suck it up because it was free.
As for myself... if the packaging process is not improved when my subscription comes around again I don't think I will order it again. I love the mag, but for the price tag that goes along with it I am really put out how trashed the mag is by the time it comes to Australia. It is just not acceptable.
