Edited by: Big BillyBob on 02/11/2006 06:27:01 Edited by: Big BillyBob on 02/11/2006 06:24:42 I recently shelled out $100 to get my poster professionally framed.
Here are a few pictures:
Pic 1
Pic 2
Pic 3
There's only one problem.
Here it is
That is one of the major crease marks on my poster that almost ruins the whole thing. Its a big white line with an ugly scratch spot in the middle. It made me think twice about putting it in a frame, but I figured I could deal with it.
So CCP, I have one question: why, oh WHY, did you FOLD the posters and not ROLL them? Rolling causes no crease marks, and I would have gladly paid a few extra dollars shipping fee to secure the condition of my poster.
Is there any way I could purchase another copy without any faults like this? It seems such a waste of good art. _________________________________

This is exactly the reason I didn't get mine framed.
I would love to be able to buy an uncreased one.

That's very uncool, it's also very avoidable. Seems the person(s) in charge of that wasn't paying attention much.

thats totally unacceptable, i can see it was folded into thirds, and then folded horizontal in half. did they mail this to you in a business size envelope???!!?
i can see the other vertical crease line easily and it looks like there is a horizontal crease line running through the pic too. not to make you feel bad about the line you notice yourself.
folded posters are for 2 bit magazines. (import tuner, girly, retarded biker)

Demand your money back. Not for the magazine of course, that arrived in pristine condition like mine I presume? But demand a refund on the poster. ----------

If you are talking about the Iron Tide poster that came with E-ON #5, that was a promotion from the E-ON guys. CCP had no control over the manner in which it was shipped.

Edited by: Tehyarec on 02/11/2006 14:29:40 Posting photopaper posters as folded? No offense but that's retarded. If someone folded my photo prints I order I'd stick the person responsible out of the airlock. Or something No point in a high-quality poster on photopaper (as you say it's from CCP, I guess it's on photopaper like the rest of 'em... but I don't see Iron Tide in the shop, and it's made by a player right? So dunno) if you ruin it by folding.
EDIT: Ah, from E-ON? Well, still, if it's photopaper, never ever fold it.

Just curious, why are your images posed as mirror images? Just noticed that your image was a mirror image of the original Iron Tide, but then your desktop seems backwards too lol
And yea, that crease would bug the hell out of me. Thats why I got my brother to print one out where he works-(A professional print shop) .. I consider myself very lucky

Mine was only rolled because I helped with the creation of that magazine issue and had to have mine sent out separately (I get a free copy of the magazine). I do editorial work on the insider's guides.

I've been meaning to get this framed myself, but you're right, the crease marks are a deal breaker. :(
BillyBob, did your framers use a "dry press" i think it's called to flatten it first? There's also apparently some tricks they can do to "color in" the seam, but with so much details on the image I'm not sure that would be acceptable.
Really, the best would be to release the full sized image file to print from, but that's up to the artist. :) Or heck, sell full sized prints! DeviantArt can do that. -- Lil Miner Newbie Skills Roadmap | CCG Card Lookup |
