It seems that Jump Fatigue has put a damper on this play style.
Don't take this the wrong way, but I'm surprised that someone in BL would be all that intrigued with Cloaky Asshattery when y'all have so many other ways to get your content.

We got hot dropped by bloodline - who by reading thier bios and corp descriptions are pretty much the premier black ops droppers that null has to offer. We were baiting 100km off one of their stations. The snuck the cyno up to the bait and lit us up. It was horrible. If you want blops tips, fly w/ the pros for a while.

I dont like black ops as they lack combat ability outside of pure ganking. I much rather have a interesting fight against the same group than drop on them with black ops. For the fleet its also often pretty boring as outside of the cyno guy nobody else has any input to the outcome really. Its the epitome of f1 monkeying.

I see what you are saying. On the other hand, I kind of like that we can jump a small force worth billions into the front yard of a much larger force. Bonk them in the nose and then see if we can get back out. We're not a big 'blops' group, we only do it occaisionally, and tbh we haven't done it since fatigue is a thing. (not because of fatigue - that matters little to our wh ops).
For us it's a nice change up to throw into the mix. It's a chance to go big where maybe we shouldn't go at all. I will agree that sitting just inside a wh and waiting to pop out and bridge is boring, but that's eve. The nights were pvp just happens all night long are rare gems to cherrish. |

i Like to do solo stuff and i dont want to put too much effort in to it like moving booster alts buying expensive implants searching for valid targets meh i got boored most of the time you get baited and blobed this is EVE but with black ops i can get nice kills with less effort offcourse there is alot of risk involved like 3 bil worth battleship |

We somewhat regularly do some Black Ops work in low sec, even made a few videos (see YouTube link in signature).
Sometimes its a largely uninteresting gank and sometimes its a tactical use of force against an enemy but more often than not we use it to break up gate camps.
Dropping BLOPS on a gate camp of cruisers is interesting and by no means a simple F1 fight. The force you're dropping into usually already has logistics cruisers on field that are set up and also usually has the ability to reship quickly as the camped system is often a system they live or stage out of.
As the one dropping you have the element of surprise and a game plan but situations can change rapidly and in the end of the day, you're committed to the field with a lot of ISK at risk... Stratios, T3s and BLOPS battleships don't come cheap. Also unless you bring a tinker T3 (with limitied range and of course cap instability) you're don't have logi reps... you're committed to straight buffer or local reps.
Often the end result is we catch the camping fleet off guard with surprise and kill a shiny cruiser or two and their logistics cruiser alts while the majority scatter. Sometimes they stick it out and give you a run for your money or kill and might even kill an expensive ship that basically wipes out your ISK efficiency for the evening. Either way, if you win, they almost always regroup quickly and come back with a vengeance. By that time you better have your expensive stuff cloaked up & off field or be prepared for round 2.

I have done alot of black ops in the past. Used them on all different occasions. Carrier ganging incombo with stealth bombers when dominion just came out and ratting carriers where everywhere. I dropped numerous ganks on random people, in fleet and solo. I have hunted for the shiny bling bling ratting ships in anomalies and i have fitted them with racks of cormack smartbombs and smartbomb people of the gates. Which i found even more fun than ganking someones maurauder or a hulkspawn with a rorq. Well... maybe not but it comes very close!
I will tell you a little story about black op's. First of, i hope you can make any sence out of my broken grammer and poor choice of sentencing. Black ops are by far out imperfect. Meaning, what ever you do with it, fitting for gank or fleet, it will not ever be perfect. The tools around black op's, like the jumpdrive or the cloak would make it otherwise tooo op.
The story of a nomnom gank One of my best nomnom ganks with bo's i have ever had, was done with 2 friends when we took a break to hunt in the Drone Regions. It was around the time -A- lost the last time catch (2-3yrs) and i have had it with a rogue CEO and decided to resign as director in [SS.E] and said **** it. We stationed near a constellation that could cover the 4-5 regions almost completely. One day, i was running one of the drop alt, named Krusty the Clown in a rapier. Around the same time PL moved their activity to the same area as well. So one day, i had this pl char in a rapier on gate comming out of a dead end constellation, obvius for the same purpose as us. We start locking up, and **** around the gate a bit. Some comments in local, and a fried informed me, who was in their fleet, convo'd me and told me they know i had 4 bo's behind me and they had 30 o.0. That was to be expected, so i went though the gate and he didn't followed, assuming he continued his hunt. I went deeper in the constellation and passed a system 7M4-4C. Noticing 4 hulks and a Rorqual out. They quickly safe'd up, and our book of tricks said logksi as best option (sytem was too wide in AU to hop out and back in and manage to snag them) and probed the sites, bookmarked the cans and logged. That said, i called a 10 min break. After that time, we were ready and a logged in the toon. By my surprise i landed in the middle of all of them with the rorq on grid, next to them..... I was like what the ****. Pointed a hulk and the rorq and lauched the cyno. Upon jumping command we spead out the points of the fellow bo's but the other hulks were off. We were thrilled by catching a Rorqualspawn in a mining anomaly. It is a rare spawn!. That was a awesomeday!! Stealing a rorq kill from pl made me smile as a ************ for 2 weeks long! Later that day, we caught a macharial, a hurricane and a Mackinaw:

The story of a lone mining expedition running into cormack smartbombs This story is about another way of using black op's. You love it or you probably hate the way of cleaning up space and making EVE a little bit more dangerous. This story originates from about 2 years ago and is shows the diversity of bo use. Around that time, i had the crazy idea to use the stealth and jump capabilities in combination with gate bubbles to smartbomb anything that i could. Worked out everything in theory, eft'd myselve a ship, bought it and i went out. On one day, i saw a small spike in local. Just around the time venture's were introduced. I identified them as all killable at the same time. They came into system, i warped to my drag bubble and they met cormacks's dangerous wepeons! 5 people met their clonefacilities at exactly the same time! I bet they were smiling when they saw the kb, not everyday you get cormack'd by a panther loool.
