Hey,
Im basically wondering how the EVE ccg is compared to other CCGs that have been out. Ive played the Battletech CCG which people said was very similar to Magic. I also played the orginal StarwarsCCG,then the version using Episode 1+2 but not the newest one that mixes all 6episodes together. I have also played the Shadowrunccg and a bit of 7th sea.
I dont know who made the EVE and not interested in spending is..i mean money for something i might not end up playing. So an honest opinion would really help especialy if it is comparable to any of the games mentioned above.

Eve:TSG is similar to magic and Star Wars in some ways. Magic in a way that you have to earn income (mana) in order progress though the game. Also how some of the cards are setup, such as News cards are similar to Instants and sorceries; and ships are your creatures. Each ship has an attack and shield (power/defence) along with a few abilities that you have to activate (tap/duration).
Star wars uses locations to gain abilites and resources in much the same way Eve does through starbase structures and outer regions.
The rest of it is really original. You can read more about the rules and see the cards here -->www.eve-ccg.com
I enjoy the game very much. Its a bit complex to start out, and combat for the first time can get a little messy, but once you play it your hooked.

If you're not quite sure about the game, and want to try it out before you commit any money, the best thing to do is look for someone running demos in a hobby shop near you. If you can't find anyone, you can also download free demo decks here. Just print out the PDF files, cut out the cards and glue them to some cardboard or other playing cards, and you're ready to roll! --- Zack Walters EVE: The Second Genesis Organized Play Coordinator CCP Games |
