it's realistic,
And it if implemented in EvE, would case serious server side lag.
(rad/sec calculations for every turret, in every ship vs a 5 digit interger)
I'd wholeheartedly welcome it if they got it to work, but I don't believe it would happen any time soon.

it shouldn't be too hard to calculate to be honest... use the client CPU to process it and use a parity check to make sure people don't use packet sniffers to muck with it.

Client side displays can be done 100% local, no lag serverside.

It's not more difficult to calculate .... it's just tranversal/distance

If the calculations for that would be done on clientside it would also mean that it would be hackable meaning that it won't be done on client.

It shouldnt be anything used in hit calculations, just info to the player to let him know if hes going to hit or not. ____________ Sex / Rank 9 / SP: 1280 of 2304000

Then it wouldn't serve any purpose since you can already do transversal aligning manually which makes hitting a lot easier.

Can someone explain what's this about angular velocity? Is it new on Sisi? Where exactly did it appear? I don't log onto the test server, but this really sparked my interest, if it is what I think it is...

Instead of using Transversal you use Angular now. Transversal was a guess as to if you were going to hit every time. With the Angular you will hit every time as long as the targets Rad/s is lower then your guns Rad/s and also as long as your Guns Sig Radius is smaller then your Targets :)

Bingo. Now you can actually see when you will hit vs empirical and black art like approach of m/s on current TQ build...which means nothing as the value of course means different things at 1km and 100km....

This is going to make life a lot easier for gunships, shoot if angular velocity is smaller than tracking, not shoot when it's greater than tracking.
