Hi, I'm going to farm standing for some NPC corporations and I need a good fit for blitzing L3 missions. I can fly any ship sub-capital, much time ago when I started running missions I used a passive Drake, but it was a long time ago, missiles have been nerfed since that.
So I would like a gunboat (I'm tired of missiles travel time), thta is fast (speed) and fast at blitzing L3's and also cheap, because I'm a cheap carebear. |

I wouldnt call a Tengu cheap. :P
If you are looking for a solid cheap ish ship you cant go wrong withthe Navy Auguror nor the Navy Omen. In both the Damage damage is insane and they are tough as nails. The Nomen is the mnore nimble of the 2 and it has more drones, but the Augurer is tougher and has potentially more damage from its guns at high levels of Amarr Cruiser skill
I set mine up something like this
4 Focused Beam lasers (3 for the NAuguror, the Ship bonus increases their Damage.)
3 Capacitor rigs
Mwd and 2 Cap rechargers
800 Rolled tungsten plate 3 Heatsinks MAR II Reactive armour Hardener EANM
I've done dozens of Level 3 missions with this setup as I was working on all 4 empires stanings to do their Epic arcs, and I never had any trouble with any of them. Just burn out to range and snipe them to death. Easy.
You could put heavy beams on the NAuguror for even more damage but I found the cap drain too heavy. Your milage may vary. Also pulses (aside from scorch) gets you a touch too close to the action for my tastes, but beams will do the job just fine.; |

It was my fault to don't say the maximum ISK, but a T3 it's too much ISK for a L3, the Tengu would be more than 300kk just for the hull and subsystems.
Let's say that the maximum would be something like 250kk, any new suggestion? |

seems like a completely arbitrary cutoff to me, but hey your time/isk. Plus the ishtar fits in there very well, and does a kick ass job! With the warp speed rig changes you can probably even throw something in the highslots. haven't tried a cynabal but with the warp speed it is probably decent. The complete lack of EHP bothers me a little, but usually not sitting around long enough to get noticed, and there isn't anything shiny on there, so probably okay.

And you wont*, because warp speed. If a ship had sufficient raw DPS and application to claw back the time lost in transit, it would be nerfed tomorrow
*Actually a full gank astarte or 650mm sleipnir might get up there. I'd need to eft warrior some. |

For the missions Stoic posted, my Tengu beat the Mach in almost every one!
I did post those results.
Even after the nerf on the ROF on rails, I stll could turn in better times.
-Kirst
By the way, could you please share what subs are you using on your Tengu. Maybe i did miss but couldn't find those in threads. I'm trying to compare with Proteus bild up which Paranod Loyd suggested as a possible competitor. |

OK, here's everything:
Rigs: 3 x Hyperspatial Velocity Opt. II
HIghs: 6 x 250mm Rails II, Caldari Antimatter, before nerf 720dps, after nerf 670
Mids: 3 x Tracking Computer II, (optimal range/ tracking speed script) Sensor Booster II, (Scan Res.) Pith C-type MSB (this is the tank, and worked just fine in blitzing) 10mn MWD II
Lows: 4 x Federation MFS (or 3 and one Inertial Stab)
Sub systems:
Diss Seq. Supp. Screen Power Core Mag Inf. Grav. Cap
Implants: WS-610, MR-703, MH-805, SS-905, WU-1003
Even after I posted my results, I continued to blitz L3s, recording the results. The times posted are actually an average, so some times were actually faster.

This, you not going to beat a mach at blitzing low level missions. With 800mm ac's everything is in range as you can kill stuff out to over 60km. warp in, if no gates align out, shoot only what you need to and warp out. Fit a t2 small tractor so you can grab the mission loot if it is needed and start aligning out. Split your guns so you don't waste cycles, I go 2, 2 3.
