anyone wanna test this? right-click on any chat channel and click join voice. now hit esc and go to audio settings. click the wizard button. go through it. now go back into game and have someone else join voice on the same channel. can you two hear each other?

You need to enable the "Talk" button in keyboard afterwards too. Seems it's bugged though. My friend tried to start the wizard, CTD'd. I finished the wizard (three times), clicked "JOIN AUDIO" over and over to no avail, then hit alt-m (my talk bind), nothing happens. Then about 5 minutes later, poof, CTD. ---

voice chat sucks, it uses too many bandwith lol couses big lags
if 500 players will use=500*5 kb/s (normal quality) it would be 2.5mb/s already

Have you even had a look at it? The voice chat server is not the same server as the main game. CCP is outsourcing it. So really it will cause no additional lag as opposed to using teamspeak or ventrilo (unless the outsourced company has a REALLY bad server )

I wonder how voice chat would respond to client side lag and such things. Client tends to get stuck while warping into a blob, if voice chat does the same then it would be pretty useless... errr... even more useless then it already is since communications break down upon node crash makes it pretty useless as well. -----
