Forwarded from obsolete neocom:
This thread marks the founding of a new annual contest. A contest to express your hatred and contempt for the Amarr Empire.
This contest is sponsered in whole by my own corporation, Heathen Legion and it's affiliates. We're a combat organization founded by renegade Amarrians and a proud member of the Ushra'Khan alliance. We seek to bring reform to the Amarr Empire by any means necessary and provide aid to those free-thinking Amarrian citizens oppressed by their own tyranical government.
The rules of this contest are simple. Introduce yourself or nominate someone and in five million words or less, describe why you or your nominee stand head and shoulders above the rest in the conflict against the Amarr Empire. Feel free to recount old war stories, tell us of heroic deeds or even provide us with stirring war songs you've composed.
Though the plight of the Matari tribes has been great, this contest is not solely directed to them. Enemies of the Empire of all races and backgrounds are welcome to participate.
Eligibility requirments:
1. Members of Heathen Legion are ineligible, but other members of the Ushra'Khan alliance may enter. 2. You must have been a member of a militia or a capsuleer run corporation prior to today. 3. You must have a record of combat action against Imperial loyalists. 4. Public record must show the Amarr Empire doesn't like you very much. (Exceptions will be made for severely outdated records)
The prizes:
A brand new shiney Revelation class dreadnought. This Revelation was manufactured from blueprints captured from a destroyed Imperial loyalist starbase tower. It will be available to the winner fully fueled in a lowsec system.
The second place runner up in this contest will receive an autographed copy of the holoreel Two Girls, One Pod.
The winner of this contest will be determined by a panel of judges consisting of... me. So yeah, it'll be biased. If I think you're a tool, you probably won't win anything, but hey, there's no entry fee, so it won't hurt to give it a shot. Nominations will close April 20th.
All nominations entered on the obsolete former neocom will be stored on our database for consideration in winning the contest.
Good luck! |

Obviously Bahamut 420 is the best single candidate for this position. None compare, and in my honest opinion: *music* When I think of Bahamut, my head turns all around As gentle as a butterfly, he moves without a sound I call him on the telephone, he says be there by eight Tonight's the night he's moving in and I can hardly wait
The way he moves, ooh-ooh I gotta say Bahamut let's live together Brighter than the stars forever Bahamut let's live together Brighter than the stars forever...*/music* |

All this boo-hooing about the Amarrian Empire. You might as well nominate a real warrior for your cause and pay them then choose from a bunch anti-authoritative sissies. |

I expect most of the entries to be from freedom-fighters and considering the one doing the judging, it feels their chances are a bit better than those of others. I'm going to give you something a little different anyway.
While it feels a little bit narcissistic, I'm going to go ahead and nominate myself. This will no doubt come as a surprise to most of you who will wonder what achievements I can possibly list that would count in opposition to the Amarr Empire. I'm going to speak of what can be considered ancient history in capsuleer circles and thus no doubt some here will even learn something.
Even if I don't remember when it was last applied to me, nor do care to be called that anymore, but I'm going to tell you how I earned the nickname "the Blood Queen."
The Background
It all began in YC 106 when I had come to hold the position of leadership in what was then only a minor band of scoundrels called the Venal Rangers. We were then, as pirates tend to be, on the lookout for profitable enterprises.
One such opportunity presented itself when the Jovian ambassador Misu Baniya literally exploded into pieces after a matter transmission device catastrophically malfunctioned. The empires tasked the capsuleers to seek out and gather these pieces to ultimately curry favor with the Jovians. But it was not only the empires who were so inclined, the Blood Raiders had been commanded by Omir Sarikusa to collect as much of the Jovian's remains as possible for their own mysterious purposes. Back then the Blood Raiders operated out of the heart of empire space. Their bases were deep in the Bleak Lands nebula cluster.
The Blood Raiders were soon swarmed in profiteering capsuleers seeking to retrieve the Jovian's scattered pieces. All across their dominion, the Blood Raiders were being hunted down with impunity. At least, they were until a relief force arrived onto the scene.
The Oyonata Pirate Haven
I took the Venal Rangers to Oyonata and began working with the Blood Raiders. We secured some key capsuleer alliances as well, with such old names as the Demons of Oyonata (Blood Raider loyalists) and PAK (pirates).
It did not take long for things to turn around for the Blood Raiders. The hunter became the hunted as we began pirate operations on the invading capsuleers. Those were some profitable days and even after the whole Jovian affair, few dared to disturb the sovereignty of the Blood Raiders during the rest of YC 106 and well into YC 107 as well.
Threatened by emerging capsuleer aerospace superiority to become just a minor thorn in the Amarr Empire's side, our watch over the systems tipped the scales and secured their legacy as perhaps the Empire's most ardent enemy outside of the Matari tribes or the Jovian Empire.
There is no doubt that I changed the fate of the Blood Raider systems at that time in addition to the fortunes of all our pirate allies. We did not do it alone, but nothing would have been accomplished without my initiative. We claimed back those systems for the Blood Raiders. While these events in themselves are perhaps not worthy of the accolade for which a recipient is sought in this thread, there is more to be taken into consideration.
The Mabnen Incident
In YC 107, the 'Mabnen incident' brought the Blood Raiders to the center of the galactic stage. Using a modified form of Insorum they initiated a chemical attack on the planet, resulting in horrific loss of life. It was something the Amarr Empire could not ignore and Emperor Doriam II ordered a crusade to cleanse the Bleaks Lands of the Blood Raider menace.
I can't say these events would not have happened without my involvement. How can one know? Nor can I claim a direct hand in the events surrounding Mabnen or the subsequent defense of the Bleak Lands against the Empire's onslaught, but it does not mean that these events were outside of my influence.
The thing is that a little drama prevented my active participation in what was occurring. I had a little 'falling out' with Omir Sarikusa whom I believe wanted to give me no credit for what I had accomplished for him. I also accused him of mounting a lackluster defense of the bases in Bleak Lands. Indeed, he was more concerned with beating a hasty retreat to the then recently unearthed bases in Delve. All this ended my association with their kind.
However, the loyalist Blood Inquisition was formed by members of Venal Rangers whom I had trained and introduced to the pirate haven at Oyonata. They continued our legacy. They went on to take part in the Mabnen incident and fought against the crusade as well. They too should be recognized in a thread commemorating those who have fought the empire. Later, another Sani Sabik loyalist capsuleer group, the Cruoris Seraphim, was created with direct links to the Venal Rangers.
Overview
Yes, the Blood Raiders are pirates and prey on the entire cluster, but based on their origins and ideological foundation I nevertheless argue that they are primarily a plague on the Amarr Empire. Enough of a plague that the Emperor of the time deigned worthy of ordering a crusade against.
I make no claims to have had any hand in planning the Mabnen incident which ultimately set alight the Bleak Lands. But my fate is tied to those events and I doubt any capsuleer would've considered the Blood Raider bases a credible threat worthy of a crusade had it not been for my actions and what followed from them.
These are old events, but my bloody fingerprints are all over their legacy. The Blood Raiders. Insorum. Two long-standing pirate groups (the Blood Inquisition and the Cruoris Seraphim) with solid reputations against the Amarr Empire spawned from what I accomplished at Oyonata.
I present my case to be judged. The proof is in the history records. |

I once again nominate Lord Makk for this prestigious award.
Who else but Lord Makk has repeatedly brought the foolish legions of horribleness that is the crumbling remains of CVA to their knees, begging for his divine mercy?
Who other than Lord Makk has been gracious enough to allow the Amarr Empire to remain standing?
What would the world be like if Xious was in full control, not balanced out by Lord Makk?
The choice is clear, dearest Kazzzi. You know who must win. |

I think Koro and Sneaky summed things up quite well. Also, I'll likely be able to ***** Baha's lossmail if he wins the Rev, or, I'll make him sell it to me SUPER CHEAP. Either way, it's win-win, so obviously my vote goes to Bahamut420, glorious leader/scapegoat of the Eye Eff Dubyas. |
