It's easy: If anyone inside the gang are ALREADY wardecced, receive a warning when you accept the invitation to that gang. ("Joining this gang allows for ---- to shoot at you freely, do you want to proceed?")
Also, should anyone BECOME wardecced while people are in the gang, for the love of God can gangmembers get a warning with a 30-second ish timer on it? Within that half minute, they need to leave, or are free for boom.
It's easy to sovle. This isn't a "feature", it's unintended, and stupid.

I am not leaving this topic alone until I see an answer from a dev/GM in this or similar threads. Please, it's a simple warning, and possibly a timer, it takes three minutes to put into Revelations.

Do people normaly join gangs made of people they do not know?
If so, they do that once I think :)

It's still kind of stupid, and I think in terms of encouraging in-game cooperation we'd get a boost from stamping it out by giving appropriate warnings etc. and a word in the tutorial about it.

I have done from time to time to help people who needed it - and also from time to time when I have needed help people have joined my gang.
