Hi guys,
I have sent this issue over to our partners. Will update here when we know more.
Cheers,
Sledge.

Hi Virgil,
Does your iMac have an AMD or nVidia GPU?

Dersen Lowery wrote:Confirming this. So it's not just an ATI or NVIDIA specific problem.
27" iMac, late 2012 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660M 512 MB 2.9 GHz Intel Core i5 24GB RAM OS X 10.10.4, all patches applied
Can you confirm that you are talking about the cloak issue, and not the lack of High shader settings? This (Shader clamp) is expected (for now) on AMD GPUs, but High should still be an option for nVidia cards.

Just wondering but does this mean your wonderfully inspiring, always on the ball and quick to respond partners are working on returning the shader option, fixing the broken cloak, or both?
Because I just wanted to know which one we're going to have to live with for a very long time :)
The Medium Shader setting clamp on AMD hardware has been with us for a long time. We are looking into removing this but I don't have an ETA for you. As for the cloak issue, it has been acknowledge by our partners but likewise, I don't have an ETA for a fix.
Please accept my apologies for any inconveniences and troubles this is causing you.
Best,
Sledge.

Hi Virgil, Does your iMac have an AMD or nVidia GPU? Mid 2010 iMac ATI Radeon HD 5750 1024 MB i7 Quad @ 2.93GHz 24 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 OS X 10.9.5 So you have clamped the shader quality setting to only low and medium, and the anti-Aliasing deliberately, is that correct that its a forced block by CCP or have I read that wrong? If "yes" it would be nice to have that information at the user end on this before now, so as to prevent us fault finding for faults that are inherently unfixable currently. How long before it is restored so we can run the game in high settings again? You do realise now coupled with this annoying "cloak bug" that the Eve graphic experience with low shader setting now looks like a game out of the 80's right? The patch dramas are ever growing as the game attempts to ramp up it's spec levels? I must say it's very frustrating having to continue to pay for a game that requires constant re-installs and repairs to it every time a major patch is implemented.
Hi Virgil,
I completely understand your frustration, however we stand by our decision (alongside our partner's) that disabling AA was the best way forwards for the time being. We communicated this to everyone in our patch notes and in known issue threads. As I have said above the shader clamp has existed on AMD hardware for a long time, over 2 years at least, and I can can say that we are actively looking into removing this Shader restriction now.
Apologies again,
Sledge.

Please CCP answer! Let us know what you plan to do and when. I would like to make an intelligent choice with my future gaming dollars.
All I can say, as I have said in another thread, is that I am currently testing a new Cider version. I generally don't like to communicate anything on such matters until we have concrete testing and deployment-planning done.
