Which between my crashes and the test server being down I cant do at the moment, but don't disagree with your statement about the tank. However someone has said that a Megathron blaster setup still eats the Abaddon alive.
It seems to be the un-written law all Amarr pilots should give up and train Caldari. I've got 37 million skill points packed in to being Amarr specialised and its sucks, my 15 million alt can out damge me in RMR (He's pure Minmatar). At the moment as it stands I'd be better with an Apoc fitting 8 425mm rails or 1400mm Projectiles.
Amarr ships in a fleet are absaloutly awesome there damage over time and there strong united punch make for devistating effects, the problem comes when you try solo, with the maximum of 4 mid slots on the Apoc and Abaddon and only 3 on the geddon your not left a lot of choice in setups.
Gank and Jam or Tank'n'Tickle
No other race has to sacrafice a full tank for damage. Caldari Ravens can tank and a stack damage or they can jam and stack damage Galantee and Minmatar can choose to sheild or armour tank and again can choose to tank, spank or do both.
I admit that Amarr ships tread a very fine line, even a little change to allow for solo PvP will very quickly over power the ship in a fleet situation. I don't even pretend to know exactly what is wrong with Amarr, but it says something when you only see them appear in fleets or with supporting ships.
Another good example of fleet but not solo is the Retribution Assault Frigate. 1 Mid slot is about as much use in PvP as a poisoned chocolate fireguard in the saraha desert during a heat wave. Granted the fact it can tank a battle crusiser indeffinatly (no NOS involved) is a serious bonus, but that only helps in fleets where you can slap on an AB and chase hostile tacklers round without worrying about being popped in the process.
Maybe I should stop whining and train up 2 other characters to fly with me, one in the Abaddon spewing massive Damage over time, one in a Guardian, spweing energy to the Abaddon and one in a tackler/interdictor so what ever I shoot stays around to see the end.
Sorry but it easy to say stop whining and train another race/weapon but I want to be Amarr and having spent 3.5 years training for it and not giving up without a **** good whinge. Yes I have started training Hybrid weapons now but its out of frustration of wanting to be able to go solo (also training up Galantee ships).
CCP wanted specilised characters and I was untill I hit 30 million skill points (about 7 million SP's ago). When I was at 30 million ish skill points and could only fly Amarr, couldn't and still haven't even thought about capital ships (I dread what the amarr carrier is like alhtough belive the amarr dreadnaught MUST be a massive anti-pos weapon.) and projecile weapon/Hybrid weapon was a dirty word.
Cheers Harcole
exactly my thoughts i don't have as many skill points as you but i am the same strictly amarr
if there is no boost in kali then i will be switching race as after the boost from rigs it will be worse
