Hi,
I would like to see multiple overview windows in Eve. The tabbed overview is great, but I would like to see more than one overview preset at the same time (i.e. WarpTo & PvP presets on different windows). For this to happen, we need the overview window to act like a normal chat window that can be replicated for multiple channel/presets in different windows. These windows can be stacked, pinned, minimized, resized, etc...
Also, give us an option to show the overview preset tabs or to hide them. Some overview windows will only have one preset loaded on them so hide the presets tab for these and save screen space.
Think about it. Multiple overview presets visible at all times. No need to swap tabs back and forth.
Also, how about overview orientation option to load the overview items from the bottom to the top? Place the column headers at the bottom and start listing objects from the bottom of the overview window. I like keeping all my combat buttons near the bottom of the screen. And while we are at it, fill chat member lists from the bottom to the top option as well.
P.S. I think the new overview icon change is a good idea. Keep it up!
Cheers, Wilj0 |

I dont hate this but it would take up ALOT of screen real estate... I use a 27" monitor and I run out of screen regularly... |

10/10 would close some of the 49 chat channels I normally lurk for this.

There are plenty of people with multiple displays. I personally have a 24" display and still have space for windows. It's all about screen space management. Primarily I stack windows a lot.
Also, people with no screen space can still keep a single overview window. But those that have the screen space or those who really want a second overview window would find a way to make room for it.
The implementation of multiple overview windows should not be very hard to do since the code is already there. It will not change people's experience and would add more functionality for those who want it. Just inherit from the the parent window class that the chat windows use and paste the code that fills in the overview columns and items into it.
See how we currently have 5 overview tabs... we should have an infinite number of overview windows that are stack-able. Get rid of the overview tabs and allow us to create multiple overview windows that are stack-able. Each stack would look and act like the overview tabs. Just let us name our overview windows whatever we would like and allow us to use HTML notation to customize the fontsize, color, and the font-weight. |

I'd rather just more tabs.
I can see the client getting confused with multiple windows - what one does she warp to, for example? Do I orbit the enemy, or try and orbit a bailout moon? |

While I want the same thing as you, the screen space issue is what causes me to refer you to my glorious UI suggestion...

Your selected item is still one and always one. It is that way right now. If you select and item in the overview and then select an item in space, the overview selection will be the new selected item in space. Works now, will work the same. |
