Face it, you're a mission runner. Your entire survival and profit depends on flying the best ship for the task and thus you are likely flying something very expensive and custom tailored to the task.
There are people out there that would love to be able to exploit you and get their hands on your isk, this is a guide to protecting yourself.
There are three legals ways for you to be attacked, can aggro, gang war aggro, and corporation aggro.
Corporation Aggro Anybody in your corporation has the opportunity to freely attack you anywhere without concord intervention.
Solution : Do not join a corporation that you are unsure of, random invites to corporations may be a telltale sign of CEO privacy, a good corporation will have plenty of long-term members and a good reputation.
Can Aggro If you pick up anybodys can him and his alliance can freely attack you for fifteen minutes, you can fight back.
Solution : Don't go randomly picking up anybodys loot or cans unless you're in full confidence of what the consequences might turn out to be. If you're helping out a non-corpie in a mission that you do not know well, don't touch his loot.
Gang War Aggro This one hits the most people, and is fairly hard to detect if you aren't aware. It goes a little bit like this, a noobie player asks for your help in local with taking out a hard mission. If you accept he gangs you up and you warp into the mission together. During this time he invites annother alt that is at war with his main. Being such he can have full ability to attack you, but you do not get a war-warning. His main then comes in and destroys your precious missioning ship.
Now, it's understandable that you want to be helpful, and that's not an issue. Remember to never trust strangers, so in this case you would simply create the gang yourself, and as leader you can't be exploited similarly.

Or you just fly solo dont accept peoples invites and stay in noobie corp chatting with noobs.
You are pretty darn gullable if you ever fall for the above stuff. . Seriously Have I Not Said How I Can Assist Some One You Are Killing Online? |

There is no defence from corp aggro. Anyone can join a mission runner corp and then pirate its members with impunity before getting kicked out.
It is very important that everyone reads The Scammers Cookbook to see the techniques the scammers are using and takes appropriate steps to prevent themselves getting targeted.
I know of at least 2 corps in empire that have fallen victim to intercorp piracy and wholescale theft of corp ore mining. Crime is on the increase and prevention is better than a cure. --- Slot 10 Akemons Modified 'Noble'Zet 5000 implant +8% Armour FREE |

Close Local in Empire. You only need it in Alliance Space.

If you are ganged with the person, you can pick up the loot, and it will not cause a can aggro.
