Today, we have a slightly longer piece than usual, and have therefore posted it in the Short Story section. It's called "Saccade" and, like the preceding pieces, highlights a particular feature of Kali. This time around, that feature is combat boosters.
"Saccade" is a comical story, though the humour is fairly black. It contains a reference to an as-yet unpublished piece, so if you wonder about those people in the plaster masks, don't worry; all will be explained in due time.

That was great.
Definitely your best so far - the length of the story has probably something to do with this...more chance to show off your prose. Dark, 'humorous' and very much filled with the kind of evil that makes Eve such an exciting place to be in.
The theme of the desperate man is quite common in the Eve backstory, and serves as a starting point of at least three chronicles (off the top of my head). I'd want to explore this further, to find out just how many of the 'grounders' (non pod-pilots) exist in the nooks and crannies of the empires. And where they turn, and why.
Also, boosters sound exciting. There's still a huge loose thread with the Serpentis corporation and boosters I'd like to hear more about.
