How many MMOs allow you to similtaneously gain experience (or whatever equivlent they are using) on multiple characters on the same account? As far as i know(and granted my experience is not all that great), none.

it would be useful as to say that if you had chars one pvp and one mining to be able to keep them both up date at the same time with skills

I'm all for skill queing and whatnot to better balance casual vs power gaming styles, but I in no way would like to see multichar training opportunities. It's also not going to happen because this would allow people to train up alts in the background strictly for selling. Scourge of the asteroids. |

point taken but there could be some sort of safety system which would stop people from selling alts by some system which tells the devs it there main

No, we don't all want it. I'd prefer to see one account-one character training continue thanks.

Have to agree with the others here. Dual training a) would be a direct opposite to almost every other MMO out there, b) would essentially mean that every single player would have a miner/industrialist, a fighter and a merchant. That would have a huge negative impact upon the game in general! and c) would slash CCP's sales, as a lot of people would simply go with one account rather than the two or even three that they have right now.
Nope, bad idea all round.

Get a 2nd account and be happy that you don't have to have both logged in killing rabbits at the same time to train.

Yeah I disagree with this. Why the hell even let me create 3 characters on one account????? its a waste of server space if you ask me, 1 account 1 character... thats how it should be.

You can already train skills on two or three characters.
Just not simultaneously.

How many MMOs allow you to gain "experience" while OFFLINE ?
The ONE and ONLY problem with any queue/multiple skill training lies in the fact that CANCELLING your subscription KEEPS training your skills. Ok, it's a nice thing to have a high-rank skill trained fully to L5 after you finished L4 (and started L5) minutes before subscription ran out and you came back to "active" service several months later... but it would be a whole different can of worms to have an account get, say, all basic learning skills to L4 on three separate characters, cancel subscription, and come back to THREE characters ALL fully trained from L4 to L5 in all learning skills (coincidentally that would be exactly one rank 18 skill, if it would have existed ; even if each individual skill would take 18 times more time to complete, the total SP gain would be the same as a single rank-18 skill on a single character).
I see absoutely no problem in allowing BOTH MULTIPLE skill trains (even across characters on same account) AND skill QUEUEING too... as long as only ONE skill keeps on training AND ONLY ONE LEVEL MAX when account is suspended or something like that.
Other than that, as I said, I see absolutely no problem training, for instance 3 skills on ne char, 2 on another and 5 on the third, as long as EACH of the 10 individual skills gets trained at 1/10 of normal speed. _____ -sig-

This will never get actioned ever - to train multiple chars at once you have to have multiple accounts which means multiple subscriptions = more money. At the end of the day this a game for us, a business for CCP
Simple, end of.

"Not implemented this into the game yet" - Have you ever thought that this might be an intentional function of game design by CCP?
It would be a lot easier for all three characters on an account to be fully independent, but CCP added checks to stop multi-character traning. It's an intentional part of game design, not an oversight, and it's not going to change.
If you want to both mine and PvP, then go train some PvP skills on your mining char (or mining skills on your PvP char). Many of the skills are common to both - PvPers and miners both need good tanks, good nav skills, etc. I'd say about 50-75% of the support skills for PvP and mining are common to both. ------------ Ezra Cornell pe0n, Calista Industries |

I would like something like.. train 2 characters at same time but at half the speed. This would help when you want to make a new character but still want to keep the old one for another purpose, withou creating unbalance.

The only way I would agree to this is if training time was increased by 2 times if you had 2 accounts going and 3 times if you had all 3. But you could just queue skills on 1 then on the next if they implement that.
I prefer switching skills mannually. I have 3 alts on 1 account. 2 are Cyn. Field alts and 1 is an industrialist.
My main account has 1 character that I use for fun suicide missions against gates and concord (No training) and my main character which I am posting with.
The only situation I came accross that I would say multiple training would be useful was a friend of mine had a younger brother that played and shared his account but they had to constantly log on and switch skills around to each of their characters. They couldn't afford 2 accounts (his brother was 12) and he wasn't about to pay for his brother. If skill training was multiplied by 2 they both could train just would take twice as long as if one of them was training.
But I prefer the way it is atm my self.

I am all for alts, but in a game where it makes sense. Since every character in EvE can train every skill alts don't make much sense. and the Suicide alting annyos me.
