Anyone else pick up this title? I've only gotten to play for about 20 minutes, but I'm enjoying to so far.
Any feedback?

i havent played, but my mate says its awesome. one optional boss took him loke 7 hours, he said he wouldnt play again if he had died bwahahaha

a fight that took 7 hours? **** me, are you sure he doesn't just completely suck at it? No way in hell is there a fight designed to last that long.

11 hours in... Definately enjoy it, its not final fantasy X, but well see my friend is a little farther than me and tells me it only gets better.

your friend is full of **** or messing with you. there is no battle in the game that takes 7 hours.

Hmm just watched the trailer for it.
The Characters are getting far too emo now. What happened to bad ass people like Cloud and Squall? Sure they were slightly feminate but they kicked ass.
Reminds me of the feeling I got from MGS: Sons of Liberty when I realised I had to play most of the game with a blonde whiney guy called Raiden.

LOL cloud and squall were prolly the most emo and whiney of all the FF series, any way im about 30 hours in and none of the character are emo. Vaan is happy go lucky, Basch is tough and quiet, Balthier is kinda Han Soloish, Fran bad ass, with a dry sense of humor. nope no lame whiney why does everything happen to me emo characters so far

Did you watch the same trailer and not FF7?
The characters in this game are far far less emo then the ones in FF7 or the previous titles. Balthier and Basch are badasses

The only gripe I had with FF10 was its story. Beginning to end I knew who the enemy was, Sin. I always enjoyed the way the series made one enemy for the first half of the game and then switched it up on you. You just knew going into a game the enemy you saw was only the beginning.
FF6 Empire then Kefka, FF7 Shinra then Sephiroth, etc etc (those were my two favorite to be honest, with FF6 slightly better than FF7 only b/c it was the first RPG I played the hell out of).
Does FF12 have a similar plot where there is a bigger, badder bad guy?

My personal opinion: The new combat system sucks, its like playing WoW in single player mode with bots instead of other people. The story is your average final fantasy affair.. "Bunch of degenerates band together to form a team of unlikely heroes who set out on a quest to save the world from evil"
I've played worse RPGs but this one doesn't live up to the hype or standards of what a FF game should be to be honest.

Sorta. There are no random battles. The enemies are always on the map sorta like Zelda. The attacking is done based on a timer, but you can run around while your attacking. Moving doesn't really do much though.

I recently completed this game, i've got to say i very much enjoyed it, i'll definately have to go back through it to complete every little bit, but that boss that can take up to 10 hours.. he's a nasty one, they weren't kidding. He has millions of hp lol.
Its not as good story line wise as FFVII i'd guess, but the fantastic voice acting is a vast improvement on FFX's and the graphics truely push the PS2 to the limits of its abilities. On par with the best FF games i've played because of all its merits, the battle was something new to get used to but overall its definately worth it. Took me 65 hours to complete first time round, thats the way it should be :D
