I just got off The kali patch after playing around with the Abbadon. I dont really think its that bad a ship. Its meant to tank OR gank, i found the gank potential very high, but also the tank potential high too. I think its meant to do what it does. Also i agree we need someform of imbalance fixing, in the scheme of things. lasers though have a much higher Damage modifer (imo) initialy, as most rails are around 3 or so (i think) while my tachys are 5.8. Does this solve all ammarian problems, no, but people need to stop whining that we dont have the wtfpwnmobile in everything. just get over it. I think that the ammarian coudl use a slight boost, but nothign huge or game shattering. Caldari could use a nerf though.

Geddon has the same maximum damage and can actually fire for longer then one minute. The 25% resistance really doesn't do much for it except for force people to passive tank.

augoror with 3 best named energy transfers, best named cap chargers all around
300 energy every 5 seconds, sustainable
ababadon with T2 tachs STILL runs out of cap, with the augoror going constantly. -------------------------- this is my main :( |

the op seems to have missed the main problem with the abaddon: its nothing more than a slightly better version of the geddon/apoc in one very specific situations (long range fleetbattles). given that we already have 2 solid fleet battleships we dont need yet another one.
take a look a the rokh for a moment and you will see that it is exactly what was missing from the caldari battleship lineup. it filled a missing role.
this is what should have happend for all races instead of this bad excuse for a new ship. aside from the rokh there really is no reason for any of the other tier 3 bs to be added to the game. in a way the other 3 seem like an excuse to give caldari their fleet sniper.

Well I've been trying to fit out the Abbadon for two days on the test. Of course my first goal was to fit 8 tech II Tach's, with a tank. Couldn't do that. OK, uhm 8 tech II mega beams with a tank. Nope. Could fit the guns, but could only fire seconds.
Ok, 8 guns with sustainable fire. Yep its possible 4 cap recharger II's in mids, a slew of power relay's in lows. Now I have no tank, and no gank. Well lets start playing with cap boosters. Mix it up a little. Ok, reasonable tank, I suppose enough capacitor for a fleet battle. Still no ganking abilities. How much will this ship cost?
Hey I wonder how this set up would work on a Apoc. Wow, 8 tech II mega beams, room for 2 gun mods in mids. A MASSIVE tank. This ship will fire all day long, passively, no cap problems. I like it.
Now I have 46 million skill points. Frankly I enjoy trying to make something work that everyone is *****ing about. I couldn't do it. If CCP changed the rate of fire bonus to a cap use bonus, the ship would rock. (Of course you almost already have that in the Apoc.) Oh, well.

I was playing with the Abaddon on the test server last night, I quite liked it (I did not even bother trying out a sniping fit)
My setup was purely for Small gang type warfare.
4 Mega Pulse 2's with Conflagration/Scorch 4 Heavy Diminishing Nos
4 Cap Recharger 2's
2 Large Armor Rep 2's 1 Therm Hardner 2 1 Kin Hardner 2 1 Exp Hardner 2 1 EAN 2 1 Cap Power Relay
1 EM Resist Rig 1 Kin Resist Rig 1 Exp Resist Rig
All Resists 80% +
I am almost maxxed in Amarrian skills.
To me, this is a tanking ship, not a gank ship as was first and foremost proposed by everyone.
I won every 1 v 1 BS fight I had, read EVERY.
Now to the problemsą
8 turret slots? No pointą No tackling equipment (As I said, small gang, let my friends do the holding) My victory's are due to my nos, plain and simple.
What does this add up to? The ship is not what it is said/meant to be. There is absolutely no point to the RoF bonus as far as I am concerned. The 8 turret slots with the RoF bonus combined with no Cap usage bonus, pointlessą
The above setup would work just as well on an Apoc, obviously with slightly worse resists, but you could probably swap out the Cap Relay for a DMG Control or 2nd EAN to counter this.
In summary, I agree with everyone else, this ship is nothing new, although not a bad ship in itself, we have already got two ships that do exactly what this one does. Now don't get me wrong, I am probably the biggest believer in the "Amarrian Philosophy" of DPS/Tank that I know, with the sacrifice of versatility (These people suggesting we change this ship to drone boat / missile boat make me cry) What I want to see is the abaddon turned into our Tach boat.
Abaddon = Tachyons (read: powergrid! And change bonus +resist to cap usage) Apoc = Tank (Change +Cap bonus to +resist bonus) Geddon = Short Range Gank (I like geddon, keep as is)
I hate suggesting changes, but there are my thoughts :)

Changing the RoF bonus to 10% optimal per level would be a good start.

Leave the abbadon how it is . it's a nice ship For all who got the cap problem on the abbadon , consider looking at the rigs , withought those u are correct the abbadon is usseles , with them + a passive tank , i'll beat any bs in 1vs1

That megathron isnt fitting a web... Something is wrong there.
Also, it should be able to indefinitly tank your damage fairly easily if it fit any kind of tank.
Which appears to be a shield tank...
And you arent even using lasers, you are using AC's...

Not really, especialy once you consider that every other ship gets to use rigs too. However, the abaddon will be pretty decent with AC's/Artys using rigs. Just not lasers.

Orange i really thought better of u , that mega is a newb , tanking a mega on shield .... ffs , he deserverved to die , he didn't had a web , as he was tanking on shield , wonders me what he had on lows tbh
And the others that i fighted agains also had rigs btw , although i dunno how good it will be with ac's / arty , it might be better , but atm i don't have the projectiles skills too , caldary and missiles ftw
