what i did was flaming
people that break ransoms are the pit of the playerbase, and deserve no respect whatsoever. They hurt the game for many players that ransom, only to hear "**** off, you are just going to run with my money and kill me anyway"

I think I'm only like two warnings away from mine.
All because of the utterly silly "Accrue enough warnings and you get permabanned" feature of the forums.

I'm not sure where I'm but I think I'm in middleway. Got my first 24h ban and I think kieron said to me in 2005 FanFest that you get it once you hit 5 warnings.

It's, eeerm, interesting to see how good constructive posters like Sarmaul (okay he was a bit of a Minmatar whiner but at least knew what he was talking about) and Hippoking get permabanned and that morons like Zixxa still get to post...

I think they are nicer these days and dont give out so many warnings. Hippo and Sarm got wasted when they were putting warnings out for cursing etc afaik...
I would love to see them back.

Well, we minmatar now have Sarmaul and Hippo and a few others all to ourselves. As long as they are banned, they cannot escape us. And Hippo is cute. We'll keep him.

Hippo avoided a tempban by posting with an alt iirc. That leads to a permaban when you get caught.
Nothing will get you unbanned once you got the permathing sticking to your accounts. You could search for Tank CEO's latest forum actions at eve-search.com. There was a 'forum dev' post about that incident hidden somewhere, maybe one of the former stickies in the 'general discussions' ...
Sarmaul got waltzed over when the mods started policing the 'crime and punishment' section of the forum after many moons of ignoring that section until someone sent in a request for urgent action. I do not think that many pilots asked the mods for help when there've been 'issues' over there.
Well, the 'information' above is pure speculation (minus the part about the duration of a permaban).
Well, I got a whole one warning for opposing a mod posting stupid stuff and acting silly. You know, silly as in censoring a harmless line like 'The sky is blue when seen from terra's ground.'. The stupid stuff hasn't been removed and my post has been erased. *shrug*
The devs posted and talked about soonish changes to the forum policies for about 2 years. They're ccp and their 'soon' can be simply translated to 'probably never'. Pann got a lot of work ahead ...

What bugs me is the seemingly arbitrary nature of it. The corp forums are a cesspool of idiocy, but they are seemingly just allowed to stay that way. Oh wait, they removed alt posts, now we just get one man corp posts. Here if you call someone an idiot a few times for being an idiot, its ban city. I can accept harsh rules if they are at least applied fairly.
