Ok, this has probabally been posted before, but it's my turn. I lost a thorax today due to the fact of the useless sentry guns. Two npcs came near me at a gate, so i opened fire. Within 5 seconds i was toast from the sentrys.
I had no idea that they would open fire on you at gates due to a bug. I found this out after talking around on channels. I'm not a forum troll. I don't see every little detail about the simple bugs like capacitors that don't work or windows that open and close and disappear. But this is a big bug that should be posted somewhere VERY visible. Say the news.
I'm just a little upset that i lost all my rare equipment due to a bug and the fact that it wasn't mentioned anywere that an average Joe could find it.
Would someone mind making a "news" article about it. Say that CONCORD is having trouble with the programming in the sentries. This isn't too far from the truth anyway...

Did you use missiles?

He could have fitted a smartbomb, though. And are you SURE that they were NPCs and not navy from one of the nations?

why does everyone keep asking about missles. no there were no missles. they were blood raiders and the sentry guns were amarr guns who i have excellent standing with. I was attacking normal npc pirates under normal circumstances like i always have and i got creamed. Very uncool.

There are a few people who site at star gates in noobie frigates and make names that look like NPC gate pirate names. You should check to see if you took a sec hit, cause if you did, thats probably what happened. If you take a sec hit at a gate, the guns shoot you.

Nope this is a BIG BUG the 2 nps that "warp and or warp in" next to the gate, if u kill them near the sentrys, they will toast u good iv allmost lost my ship this way befor and i wasnt camping at it it was 3 seconds after i warped in

Guys...there were no missles, smartbombs or anything like that. They were not noobies with names: Blood Raider and Blood Raider. They were npc pirates. If they were players, their names would have shown up on the local chat. There was only 4 of us in the system. They targeted me, so I fired upon them.
I found out from a squaddie that it happened to yesterday that he was actually fired upon first by the npcs, and when he returned fire he was shot at by the sentinels.
I'm just asking that they post something about this on the news. Something to the effect of: "do not fire upon npc pirates near gates. You may be fired upon by CONCORD Sentry Guns." Like that, but with a storyline plot to make it sound nice.

use fraps, record the bugs. otherwise the chances of compensation are slim.

Thats nothing,
Whats real fun, is when there are npc rats AND concord battleships with in 20km, these cheap npc rats target you, attack you, and concord watches.
But wait, theres more, you fight back, concord and sentry guns own you.
Happened to me, Lost a thorax with a very, very valuable cpu (at the time it was).
Oh yea, Didnt get re-imbursed. Didnt use anything but 250mm railguns. So splash damage is out of the question.
