Actually not.
As CCP is "God of items" I prefer them just doing these changes without warning and THEN explain them.
Ah you see, but that's the crux, it's been three(?) days now and no word from CCP about the changes. For all that we know it might be a DB going belly-up as much as it might've been intentional. I repeat, just waving a magic nerf wand without explanations is bad. ____________________ first!!1!! -Capsicum

Edited by: Argenton Sayvers on 12/11/2006 22:03:49 Well. CCP does it alot. I knew someone who worked hard and collected almost every zero- run t2 BPC that was in the game. Back then, BPCs with 0 runs didnt disappear ... then CCP went ahead and just removed all zero-run BPCs.
Now the same thing happened. People who collected the small, worthless, characterful BPOs that noone ever really wanted got worthless junk.
People who bought multi-billion ISK printers (Cargo I was making billions for a long long time) got free cap recharger II BPOs (in the last couple days, EC II BPOs could produce a couple billions per day, they will probably settle at about the profit margins of cap rechargers II). CCP likes the heavy industry. The big players.
Risk is only something that can happen when you dont think big. Small Tractor Beam BPO versus Controll towers, for example. Or remember the free dreads ...

The fact that many people in the past thought of the micro cap battery BPO as being worthless is exactly why it isnt now. Like most collectibles it gained value because it was rare. People trashed them, they got blown up, and they havent been seeded in what over a year? So I go out hunt one down probably put more effort into finding one then most t2 bpo owners will ever do to get their bpos and all the sudden its gone?
The mods were a nice profit maker to. The build cost vs. What you could sell them for were probably on par with low end t2 ratios. I wasnt going to become a billionair but it was a nice little form of income.
So maybe in ccp eyes it was a worthless bpo but to the few of us producing them it wasnt. It will also effect a lot of players ship setups if they are taken out of the game.
So some t1 bpo may have got the jackpot with this whole ordeal but a lot of us got the shaft. I had pretty much what amounted to a poor/unlucky mans t2 bpo and got it ganked
