Meb could produce a short questionaire that would be part of the sign up process (or retrospectively sent to the person that signed their alliance up). It wouldn't need a lot of detail, but I imagine most alliances would be happy to say who they were fighting / where they live etc. Any notable events they mention could be cross referenced against other alliances (who again I'm sure would be quite willing to tell their version of events). I'm sure if the flip side of them not providing information was for them to be called "unknowns" on EveTV then they'd be quite willing to hand over some info!

Seriously though, I've been lacking teh interweb for a good fortnight now, but the few times I've logged onto my mates computers and checked my mails, I've seen a good amount of responses for contacts and information. I do have a few more to get in touch with, who Ifni might have already forewarned, including getting the right contacts for a few of the final 16, but I should be able to compile a simple open-ended questionnaire for the alliance team contacts to fill out and send back to my meb-hotmail account... ...assuming hotmail can get over its current issues. Otherwise I'll setup a gmail account for the questionnaires to be sent to. I hate dead pc's

The answer could be read later in the broadcast if pertinent, but teams would need to know beforehand that this is coming so they can provide prompt replies... And under the next Dev fight, why not bring in some devs as "commentators" for that particular fight!? Also Try to set up a 1 vs 1 fight too, like Oveur vs Hellmar

BOB steam rollered everyone on their way to final alomost but no comment was really made on their tactics, and how to possibly counter them. When watching Eve Tv last time wasn't always clear to see how far apart they ships were from each, was their tactic to engage and get close or keep at range. As I don't know who is actually on commentary this year, it may not matter, but I was screaming at the monitor sometimes when in the middle of a battle the commentators would start talking about X random thing. EG. In Chorus Of Dawn's match against Ushra'Khan, the commentators spent half the battle talking about how to pronounce "Huginn" correctly, failing to talk about the entertaining battle that was taking place until the thing was over, and that wasn't an isolated incident. I just find it disrespectful when in the middle of a fighting battle, the commentators decide to talk about something else. I apologize if I offended Xman/Xod in this post, no offense ment, but as someone who put a lot of effort into the last tournament for months beforehand, I would appreciate full focus on the match. Obviously there's only so much to say if a match is mind-numbingly boring, but the match referenced above was anything but. Many considered it one of the best matches of the group stages. I lost count of how many times we discussed the fact that so many teams were fielding huginn's. However I understand your comments and we'll see if we can add more of that kind of detail, at least upto the point where we end up saying the same stuff at the end of every match. You take what is offered. And that must sometimes be enough.

Coming from a Burn Eden pilot I find it quite ironic really. On a more serious note, I was hoping for more constructive ideas for the tournament, whilst there is still time to alter the final product and before people criticise us for not doing something. I'm still thinking if there could be ways to make it more interesting somehow. Change the backdrop every once in a while, maybe even use a giant LCD for that with static images on it (Iron Tide, Stahlregens art, if you get their agreement). Or I dunno, you could perhaps put some large-font statistics on a monitor - group scores, team members, stuff. Would have to be done in Powerpoint by an additonal backoffice person: It's too late for a dedicated program. Or even re-run the latest game so commentators can point out individual tactics, like how teams use range / transversal, where everyone is moving - but that's definitely too hard to organize in a rush. I'm thinking about starting a collection character so everyone who wants to see you do something like that can send in a donation. How much would it take for you to snog spiral junkie on air? Also, how about having a reporter follow one of the teams around during the tourney so you can show a wee video of what these tourneys are like from a competitors point of view. All the preparation work, all the prematch bits we dont get to see and then what goes on after a match; the euphoria of victory or the grief of losing billions.
