Hi guys,
So I've got a fairly long chain of production on one of my alts with 5 planets churning out the constituent parts of two T4 goods. I understand that the only way to move the t1/t2 level stuff is through a customs office, as I need to move that stuff in volume, but I was wondering what the best option is for my T4 stuff.
Assuming that I move it out daily, my T4 stuff is manageable to use through expedited transfers to my Command Centre and then launch into space via a jetcan. What I wanted to ask is, how is the cost determined? I'm guessing it's some kind of formula for price * m3 but I don't know for sure.
If my Customs Office is reasonably priced, am I better off launching into a can or just using the Customs Office? I haven't experimented to see what looks more expensive yet, so I've no idea. I might take a look later if nobody knows for sure here :)
Thanks |

I believe that with 10 % tax in low sec it is aproximately the same. But launching from command center gives you far superior security: you do not need to warp to custom office and no one knows, when you usually come to pick final products.
I am sure you can make an experiment and send 500 m3 via command center and another 500 m3 of the same stuff via custom office. You will get exact numbers, what is cheapier. |

Kalden,
Hey, I have been PI for a bit too. i believe its a little less costly to launch from planet as far as export. Have you tried launching from orbit back to command Center?

You can't send something from space down to your command center. The only way to import something to a planet is via the Customs Office.

i was told perhaps you could deploy a command center in orbit but it sounded wrong. nonetheless i have not tried.

Maybe it would be best if you only give advice about things you actually know about.

You can deploy the command center, yes, but once that's down, the only way to get materials onto your planet are by extraction or importing via a Customs Office. You can launch up to 500 m3 from your command center into orbit, but you cannot go from orbit to your command center.
You need to use a customs office and a launch pad in order to import materials.
