James Duar Merch Industrial	Posted - 2006.11.14 08:09:00 - [1] Basically, does anyone think it's already happened (I'm not much for the history at the moment though I try) and/or what do you think the requirements of it to be considered should be? My basic opinion is that EVE War I will be some event which essentially has a sharp division between the alliances and results in a war between somewhat even sides of all the alliances. So distinctly not when 5 or 6 lay the boot into 1 (as awesome as that always is).

If you mean pan-regional conflicts on a large scale then we have had several already. The GNW being the most famous. F4T4L is Recruiting!

All wars in EVE are named AFTER the dust has settled. E.g. 'Great Northern War' was only named so after the end of it and peopel were reflecting on it.

Leno 0utbreak	Posted - 2006.11.14 11:00:00 - [6] GNW was alot different then this though. There were 2 huge sides, big power blocks and smaller alliances as well as individual corps. All forming a huge coalition to take on the other side. The only memorable thing and special thing about the ASCN v BoB war really is the first use of titans in combat (which is pretty big). But still no multi-year GNW Also look at CA vs SA, that was huge and lasted a very long time, but still no cool name (the difference is in the sides and wide scope of fighting) --------------- RIP - Smoske, My Friend

And dont forget that there was a time when CA was fighting almost the entire EVE community. Having Tux fixing the blasterships is like having a blind man teaching you how to drive. Just wont work.

But i predict a Second Galatic War soon and its gonna be a blast And no...its not the Bob and ASCN conflict lol

My short time in CA as a member of OC was a blast, definitly the most enjoyable part of pvp (imagine, fleets with no dictors, bubbles, interceptors (for awhile), no hacs, cav ravens.... ahhh the cav raven). Yet it didnt get the cool name, and my belief is that b/c while ca was fighting everyone, it was everyone individually. There was the Ca v SA war, the CA v FA war, CA vs XETIC war, etc... Where GNW was FU, CoD, BoB (or CCP as they used to be called), lots of random corps vs PA and later CA. Gooooood times, (but imo got tiring mid way through) --------------- RIP - Smoske, My Friend

I'd say it's one of the best wars I've been in. No station ping pong, no outposts. Just 200 person battles slugging it out. Ah yes those were the days :) *and alot less lag*
