Im currently running lvl 3 missions, and are wondering wether sentry drones are effective, or if i should just stick to meds and heavys? Its gonna take a little while to train for sentry, so ill ask here before i do it

Well I am luckely flying a domi, and I do need sniping. So sentrys will be my next project then. Right after i finish some skills for tanking. Thanks for your reply.
A little added question: What kind of distance can I expect to make them effective within? What size targets will they be effective against? Sry for the many questions, still a little green behind the ears - eve wise

I guess ill have to experiment on setup, distance method of using them. Right now i use a no guns setup on my domi (mainly becouse my gunning skills sucks!), so there is plenty of room for range mods.
For missions with really small targets (usually rogue drones), i can rely on my med drones - so far they have done a great job of that (lvl 3 missions)
My hope was they would make it easier in areas with many BC's, like the new version of mordus headhunters. Heavy drones can take out the BC's fine when they get there, but their flight makes the process of killing them long. Also if they could kill of a couple of BC's at a distance, before they start to deal damage to me.
Again thanks for helpful answers

Fondas: I was thinking somthing in the lines of that tactic, thats the great thing about the domi, a lot of room for drones.
With a simple calculation sentrys should do some serius damage aswell: 5 x warden: 50 base damage * 1.2 standart damage modifier * 1.8 lvl 4 interfacing * 1.3 battle ship lvl 3 = 140 * 5 drones = Pretty good damage Is this completely wrong?

Thanks for the many replies.
I think ill give both tactics a try, in some easier missions. Experimenting is the key to find my personal faverite. But I know for sure that sentry drones will be taken into account
