Hi Everyone,
it is my pleasure to announce the release to the world of the Eve Skills Showroom v3.0 in a new home (http://ineve.net). This move was due to the old url was tied up with BIG Sales, it was long, and i wanted to expand the skills showroom and also add new applications to it.
I already have new application half way made that will show up on inEVE.net one of them i plan on releasing next week. My commitment is to continue to work based on everyones feedback because I'm not doing this only for myself, I'm doing it also for everyone only based on everyones feedback something great can be made. At this time all i will say it that the applications that will be available will be completely integrated in the website, and to my knowledge unique in the eve world, i don't want to do what someone else is already working on.
And now let's talk about the new Showroom v3.0 pre-Revelations :)
Here is the list of new things and things that where changed, hopefully i haven't forgotten about any change.
- ships & pilots pilot count
- add updated time to char info
- bloodlines included in racial statistics
- show current skill training
- check that all skills are in database
- allow a setting of a password ingame to be used in authentication in the out of game site
- with login allow person to list all the members of his corporation, not shown to everyone to make it harder to find all the members of a corp for security reasons.
- add extra security to upload and setting private, ability to set skill upload only if authenticated
- allow only corp members to see detailed skills
- allow hiding of current skill training
- top skillpoints / skills ratio
- top rank points
- add profile
- factions & pirate ships
- ability to show the ships you cannot fly
- added the orange color to skills
- listing of corp members (only for authenticated people)
One thing i thought after finishing the new site was that people might not think there are many changed from the old site to this new one, but if you look at the list of changes it's much bigger then the previous ones, so in fact this new version contains the highest number of additions and changes then the previous releases.
I would to point out the security features of the new website that you can access by registering, the registration needs to be done ingame to access you charID and some other information to try to guarantee accuracy and safety, please provide a working email that will later be used to recover your password in case you loose it.
As the site grows i have to process more and more information, while at first glance it might not seem very "work intensive", it actually becoming increasingly more time consuming for a web page, as a result some web pages take a few seconds to load to the the amout of data to process in realtime. One of the new features i needed to cache was the pilot count on the ship list. This might surprise people but there's alot of ships in eve, and alot of people that can fly alot of ships, multiply all of that by the amount of characters there.
It amounts to over 100 000 ships everyone can fly. So that pages are cached, in the future as more people use the service more pages will need to be cached because it's impossible to do ti in "realtime", i have added the runtime to the end of the page.

Another great news is that i submitted a feature request for EvEMon to directly update/upload the xml in the site, including a scheduling for automatic updates.
The lead developer has approved such a feature :) \o/ it's now on the TODO list of EVEMon, if anyone reading this post is a good programmer with .net languages or involved in the EVEMon project, please pickup that feature and include it, poke me to arrange specifics.

First up Well done on the new version . 
I dont know if it was over looked but the personnal stats screen does not include the charaters ranking in the newly added stat ( Skill ranks ) so you only know the top 10 charaters in this field as it displays on the main page and not the postion of any other charater in this stat iof they fall outside the top ten like my own.

Looks great!
Id really like it if it had a setting for Corporation only: So that the data would only be for my corporation and no one else could see any of it. All the searches and rankings would be limited to just the one corporation.
With all corp members able to use the same settings.

Nice work, very useful tool and it seems getting more useful each day.
Have you thought about breaking the lists up by pages, as the 2000+ feed into one page at one go seems to put a major strain on the code/server. Now sure how you break up the $sid to populate the grouplist.php, top_rank.php, etc but a split of say 25-50 per page I'm sure would be more server friendly as the popularity of the site grows.

Zend Optimizer installed on the server, i'm seeing a big performance increase :)
Should now be much faster for everyone, it'll allow the site to grow much more before i need to start caching some more data.

Noob question here. I have registered from with in Eve, but now I can't figure out how to get my data to show. How do I export the information to XML? Or is there something else I am missing?

Hi,
to retrieve your XML, you must click on "My Character" here on the eve online website, select the character you want, then right click the link "XML Data" and select Save As, save it to your computer. After that go to the http://ineve.net/skills/ website and upload that file.
File name and extension aren't important.

It looks to me you got the daredevil and the dramiel mixed up:
the daredevil should be serpentis iirc (the BPC drops from serp plexes/faction NPC), you have it listed as Angel, and the dramiel as serpentis.
The dramiel looks a bit cooler i think, but they mostly look alike at a first glance.
Isn't it great being a skill collector?

Maybe only the people who have included their whole XML file should be on the rankings. People like Scorpyn have huge skill ratio because they have included only submitted one area of skills.

A few "bug reports" and "feature requests" for the current version :)
1. Update to Revelations please (17 new skills if I'm not mistaking, 8 new ships)
2. There's a bug(?) with XLMs exported from EVE-Mon, for some reason (only tested post-revelations), EVEMon exported XLMs do not correctly upload on the site (0 skills 0 skillpoints displayed). I suppose that's more of an EVE-Mon bug, but thought I'd mention it nevertheless, in light of the "feature request" to EVE-Mon.
3. The "skill in training" erroneously assumes a "rank 1" skill is in training, regardless of actual skill rank. This doesn't cause any serious problems, but it displays an incorrect "target SP" for skills in training.
4. Uploading an XLM file to the site takes quite a bit of time, I can only assume all database updates are made while uploading. I am wondering wether these updates couldn't be made after upload displays as complete instead of having to wait for all to complete first ?

I'll take a look at the skill in training.
Yes it does take a bit for the upload, uploading the file, processing all the xml and then inserting it all in the database. As the site grows that will probably have to be made into a background process, we'll see how it goes, at this time I'm guessing it takes around 10secs.

In order to cope with the popularity of the site a patch has been applied to speed everything up considerably feels noticeably much faster to me.

A suggestion; skill levels etc shouldn't be hidden if the logged in user owns the character? I would have liked to have checked out an easy to read overview of all my level 5 skills, but can't because I don't want everybody else able too as well

On the next stable version of evemon you can enable it to directly update your character :)
It's currently available in the development version if you cant wait :)

The problem i have is that the total amount of skills is still shown.
If you specialize in industry, you see it by the amount of sp's alone.
That way you can still figure out what the player is specializing in.
I think it is best to put an option that hides the skills-link in public and only shows it to corp members.
and
an option to make your corporation not appear in the lists (for example: number lvl 5 skills).
I'm not breaking down your great site.... I'm just a bit looney on private intel

Yes, I get to a screen that gives me the following options:
Login
Password
email
an ok button
All Fields are Mandatory
Then it gives your email addy, and the server runtime. Those are the only options that I see.

i dont like this at all sure its great to have that but it also gives pirates and scamers and war targets the right targets to pick out and the ones to avoid i want my characters removed from this site and its a breach of my private infomation

I want to make this very clear, I dit not put your there, every week i get evemails and emails similar to this of people mad at me for putting them in my site, I also have been insulted on these emails.
You yoruself put your character there, or someone with your eve account details.
To remove your character, evemail me with that character to be removed.

1. Selling Accounts is against the EULA and will lead to a Permanant ban on your account.
2. As the creator of the site says, either you, or sombody with your account details has to have uploaded your XML file to inEve. InEve provides a central and well designed place to track these things and provides some pretty nice stats too. Myself, I just like being able to link a page instead of doing alot of typing when sombody asks about my skills...

if you use evemon then there is an option to automattiucal update ineve with your character.
otherise downlod the .xml from the My Character <- over there and upload it via the Ineve browse | upload option [top right]

I tried to save and tried to cut and paste my XML file from the eve website 20 times yesterday and 10 times today. I get the message"The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later."
I get this everytime. The skills get cut off at the bottom. I get like 2/3 of my skills to download but not the rest. Is there anyway to manually enter my skills or is there another way to get all the XML file to print or save. I was able to register my other toon but I upload the file to your site and the last 2 batches of skills dont come up because of this error when downloadinging. Any suggestions?

To reply to this and the other ones like his, i'll like to say iv just found out about ineve.net and been using it for 2 days now, i had the exact same problem as you and others and found out that it dosent happen instant or near instant at all, it took it about a whole day for it to update, so if it dosent update instantly, dont panic and keep trying a million times, it'll update soon, just wait, chances are if it dosent work the first 2-3 times, it wont work the other million. There is still a problem with "My Corporation" feature. It always shows me my old corporation. I expect to see my current corporation.

Im one of the poeple that cant get my charseet to update, i have tried both saving the XML file from Eve-O site and also saving out of EveMon and tried these on 2 browsers in 2 different locations (computerwise). If its any help i havent been able to see the "top 10" rankings down the side either :( |

i cant get it to update for me could you please help? plus how do i copy the page stuff to a forum on here when i get this fixed. i have tried updating in game and it say ok and on personal stats it say updated with no skills or sp. but when i click on my toon it say not updated.

I too am unable to update my character into on the website. I tried it from evemon, uploading the xml, and even from within the game using the in-game browser, still not able to update character info. Whats gives? Ideas?

OK guys found a way to update the XML Data file for your InEve profile.
Now look up your Character it has a XML date file right click then click save file as, it will come up with a browser window with the file name set as "xml.asp" delete ".asp" part and rename it to what ever you want it to be eg:John Smith.xml and save it.
Then go back to your InEve Character and go to the browser window find the file you have just saved click it, then when you are back click the Upload button this will update your Character sheet on the InEve web page.

Hi,
I'm having a problem with ineve.net. I have two charcaters: Elseer Radak and Garick Millar. Both are in the same corporation. I use evemon to keep in sync with ineve.net and visted the proper website in the igb. On both charcater I have set "Hide Char Detailed Information" to yes and "Also Hide Char Detailed Information from my Corporation" to no. I expected the result to be that my corp members can view my skill details. However that's not the case.
As a test I logged in as Elseer I cannot see Garick's skills detail and visa versa.
Can you help figure out why my corp members cannot view my skill details?

I have been trying to get some help on this. Tried emailing Sara Dawn. Maybe someone else can help me. I tried to reset my password on ineve.net BUT, my ISP changed everyones email extensions. so my email is different now. So i cant recieve a email with my temp password. Thus making ineve.net useless to me heh. Can anyone help?

I would be interested to see the number of pilots who have each racial battleship V skill trained. At the moment, the next best thing seems to be to look at the number of dreadnought/carrier pilots, but that doesn't count non-capital pilots who have BS V .

i receive many emails daily regarding everything and anything, I'm like a mini eve customer support, if you did indeed email me, the only reason why i would not have responded is your email was probably labeled as spam by google, i have caught some emails in there.

While listing BS lvl5 is a easy thing to do, i do not see the usefulness, as BS lvl5, there's tons of other ships too, would have to make lots of list for every races ships at lvl5.

The reason I would like to know this (and many other people would too) is that Tech 2 battleships are very likely to require BS V but not racial dread/carrier. It would be very useful for inventors to have an idea of which market is likely to be the largest.
You already have an empty 'Elite Battleship' category; if you created 4 ships there and set the requirement for each one to racial BS V it would be very much appreciated.

That's the page I mean, but at the moment there aren't any ships listed for which the only requirement is BS V. Racial dread/carrier skillbooks are expensive and not everyone who's got BS V is going to have bought and trained them. These are the pilots I'd like to know about.

For me to have replied "You yourself put your character there, or someone with your eve account details." you must have been one of those people who accuse me of the most hedious crimes to mankind, threatened to sue, hack your computer, hack eve, etc.
That basically go like I somehow with my magical powers got a hold of your skills and put them on the site on my own will and you had nothing to do with it.
Because that's the reply I usually give to people who usually say something like that.
You could also post the full message and just the quotes that suit your point.

But in response: Absolutely not. On the contrary, in fact. InEve is a lovely site and is very much an addition to the Eve community. Don't get me wrong in that it is an effort you've done, and it's appreciated, as is the curiosity and competition of skills and matchmaking it evokes.

I can appreciate you having to defend and respond to immature 'attacks', but the guard isn't necessary in my case.
Now, thank you for removing my skills (sincerely, because I know it's a pain to do manually).
But the issue still exists that we can't do this manually without having to ask. I have other friends and alt characters I don't particularly wish to identify who are on there that can jeopardize a lot of their game play. For example, I have some miner characters who can also double up as recon pilots. Skills like that really shouldn't be publicly advertised!
OK, I have turned the settings to hide their skills, but still... it's just a kind request to add the 'remove' feature
With all that, thanks for the hard work anyway!

The Skill Mobile Refinery Operation i have currently on Level 4 is displayed correctly but when i go to Skills in Level 4 it wouldn't displayed, i can find it under Skills in Level 0.
Any chance to fix this?

I spoke with sara last week,
she gets 100's of emails about resetting passowrds | character info general whiles and such each day. 
adding extar characters - just register another character - and add that that way,
resetting passwords for bought Characters.. dunno - if you change the API code - then it wont update - and you may be able to register it again - not sure -

I think a simple solution to Reset requests, lost passwords, etc, is to allow a new eve api key create a 'new' account for a character, deleting the old one. You know they are the owner of the account, if they have the eve api key, thats established on the CCP side.

Unfortunately not, I'd like a feature that if you presented the valid api key you have full control over the entry (regardless if you know the password that some previous owner registered the account with in in-eve)
Now I'm stuck with a character that has his skills visible to the world whether I like it or not.  |

I dont know if you do it here but i would like to report a fake character on ineve. Names is L3xus and is a female achurian, currently first in the top ten list of most sp. The reason is obvious: sp is at 355mil. I dont think that i need to explain myself. Sorry for disturbing any order at all.

Hi, I just registered in inEvE. Very good job.
Though there is something I cannot understand; in Personal Stats says that I have piloted 9 ships. Wow, I can assure you that on the little time that I had since I registered on EVE (2 months ago), I haven't the time to do such thing :-) I just remember piloting the Reaper, the Slasher and the Thrasher.

i bought an indy char that already had ineve and now i cant get access to change anything and i cant create a new one since it already exsists what do i do?

just wanted to say as a newb this is the one tool that has made finding info 100% easier. too bad the tutorial from the insurance agent in game did'nt mention this it would have made for a lot of lost time. haa
one suggestion would be that one could use the certificate planner to find skills one needs and add them to eve mon. there's probly a reason for this, I just haven't figured it out. |

I registered, as I want to sell my character so needed a place to showcase my skills. However, it only shows my implants for slots 1-5. I have implants in 6,7 and 10 also, why are they not showing? |

How can these characters have more than the maximum available skillpoints for a skill tree?
Learning:
When all 11 skills are trained to level 5, the total skill points add up to 5,376,000. So how do these characters have more than that? Is there something I can buy that will give me more than the maximum? I'm really confused... spent 6 months training a character (Not this one) to level 5 on all the available learning skills and now I find out that some people have been able to have more skill points then me. What's up?

There used to be an ingame mechanic a long long time ago that allowed players to gain extra sp in a skill by using modules/equipment that required that skill.
However most of those character listed are not old enough to have benefited from that old mechanic.
Some of them are cheating by uploading a false skillsheet to ineve.
I also suspect there is a ingame bug (which only seems to affect the learning catagory) which reports them as having more sp than they've actually aquired.
Either that or they've found a way to cheat the api verification.

Thanks for you reply. I posted the links in the other forum as suggested.
When I last posted skills on the site I believe it would allow the skills to be posted without API just by copying an XML file.
If there is a possiblity that some of the skills listed on the site are incorrect then anyone buying a character better be asking for an api first!
