Well, I'll throw in my two cents. How PC gamer can say that WoW playerbase is decreasing is beyond me, since they just hit the 7.5 million subscription milestone. But thats another story.
Firstly, being a new player I do come to realise that these two games cant be compared. They are way to different for that. It would be like comparing Gran Turismo 4, against GTA.
I have played WoW for two years. Got every class apart from paladins to 60. (45...Halfway to 60 atleast ;)) And I do have a certain clue as to why I got addicted to the game, but it took me until I quit to realise this. WoW itself is not a very good game, its the social aspect of it with you relying on 39 other people up to 7 days a week, making it tight between the lot of you, that gets you hooked. And when the drama starts to appear, the social aspect gets screwed over and you do like me, leave.
The quests are mostly the same, as is most of the missions in Eve. But while you can do mining, pirating, bounty hunting etc etc in Eve, you can only choose two directions in WoW. PvP or PvE.
Anyways, screw all that. What I wanted to say is that I think its worth it.
