I have just started playing this game, which means I'm on a trial account, and when I upgrade, instead of purchasing a subscription, I'm thinking about buying the collector's edition and using the included 60-days gametime code to upgrade my account. It can be found here: http://www.amazon.com/EVE-The-Second-Decade-Collectors-Edition/dp/B00CIGV846/ref=cm_cd_al_qh_dp_i
Now, I know this might be a stupid question, but if I buy this, do I get the pre-order bonuses? Probably not, but I'm just asking because I would like to get the bonuses as well. |

I don't think the pre-order bonuses are available with that package, but I may be wrong.
What I'm not wrong about is the 60 day timecard is only for creating new accounts. You can not use it to upgrade your trial account. Read the items description in that link you provided before purchasing, so you know what it is your buying. |

But what exactly does it mean by "New Accounts?" My account is a new one, I've never subscribed. When creating a new account there's nowhere to input a code for gametime. Is there something I might be missing?
EDIT: I've just found that the code included with this package can indeed be used to upgrade an existing TRIAL account. |

The Second Decade Edition includes a CD case with three code cards, and a collector's edition code. The three cards are the 60 day time code, the CCP Mystery Code (which will ALSO give you a PLEX, that can be redeemed for an extra 30 days) and a Dust 514 CE Code for the Templar Issue Dropsuits. The collector's edition code is what includes all the good stuff, like the Golden Pod implant, 5 Bluprints of the Gnosis and the Genolution CA-1 and CA-2 implants. These are part of the collector's edition and not pre-order bonus items.
The pre-order bonuses were only relevant because they included the Genolution CA-3 and CA-4 implants that complemented the set. But since during this years EVE birthday CCP distributed them to every active account, their value has plummeted due to increased supply. You will probably recieve them too if you upgrade your account, if you haven't got them already.
So yeah, you can probably live without the pre-order bonus. |

Are you sure?
When I got my code from the collector's edition I couldn't use it to upgrade a trial or add aditional gametime, it could only be used to create a new account. I haven't been able to find any information saying it can be used to upgrade a trial account. |

Yes, but what about the cool tattoos and the Nefnatar Thrasher? |

You do not get the tattoos or the Nef thrasher. |

There are a few different types of tattoo/cybernetic arms that have been released either as special editions or in the NES Store, some are fairly cheap.
I ordered the CE set on the last day the pre-order was available and even though the banner showed the digital items as still available I never got them :(

Sad to hear :( I need someone to confirm that the 60 days gametime code can indeed be used with trial accounts. |

Best bet would be to file a petition asking.
Also, that Thrasher got converted to a normal SKIN when the release happened, as it had no unique traits. |

How can I file this petition? Also, thanks for the info.

Okay, I think the best thing to do is to buy the Premium Starter Pack on Kinguin or some other trusted website. If I do so, I'm sure I'd be able to upgrade my trial account, because I've read many posts saying one can upgrade an existing trial account with a starter pack code. After thinking this out, I've came to a conclusion, there's nothing so special about the collector's edition. I was so stupid to even create a topic about it. |

Trial accounts are new accounts, and have always been upgradeable with any code that could be used to create new accounts.
Unless the CE timecodes were somehow specifically created to not allow this, you can upgrade your trial account with it; worst case, it will just give you an error and you lose nothing. |
