The first couple of times this happened, I brushed it off as a fluke, but then I noticed it happening too much for it to be mere coincidence. I dunno about you guys, but as a noob I'm constantly docking/undocking with my ores or what not from mining (teeny tiny little cargo hold lol).
First I thought that maybe it was a UI issue where if you had in-game windows open when you tried to undock, it would crash, but it doesn't seem to matter. It's happening around 25% of the time I try to undock.
It's also frustrating because most of the time, though I am able to log right back in, when I do so, my warp is active though I have no idea where I'm going. It usually warps me back to the station I just tried to undock from, and then most of the time it warps inside and then I end up doing the "wiggle dance" as I've named it until my ship "unclips" from the station. Very irritating.
I did a quick search but I didn't see anything relevant; my computer plays all the latest games without a hiccup and all of my hardware tests good. I've got all the latest drivers and I'm not running overclocked. Is this a known bug or what? And how do you overcome it, if you can?
Thanks in advance for any replies.

Also, I don't get any kind of "disconnected from server" message. This is a crash to desktop, pure and simple, without warning. I have not been "disconnected from the server" yet, though I've only been playing for 3 days, and then mostly at night right before and after the server down time.

Ok.. i'm having same issue.. Eve is new on this ssytem i built it from scratch, i've tried lowering the resolution and turning off sound, reinstalling. After docking/undocking or using a jump gate, the game suddenly closes with no errors of any kind. Just suddenly back on desktop. It's happening more and more frequently now.. around 60% of the time of any "scene change".
I wonder if it's our 7900GT series and/or SLI boards Megilos..
System Specs: 2 gigs of timed Gaming RAM 5900 GTX 512 SB X-FI Audio
All drivers are up to date from bios to graphics to my logitec mouse.

I guess I could play on one card and see if that helps or not... Maybe I'll try that tonight.
Also, it happened last night so bad that when I was able to log back in, I was stuck inside the station for about 5 minutes, then when I finally made it through I warped to an unknown destination and then warped back to the station. Turn around time from logging back in was around 8 minutes until I had control of my ship. I was freaking out over local: "How do you stop your warp drive! I can't control my ship! I'm headed to the middle of nowhere! AAAAAAaaaaaa....."
Oh well, it was funny at the time even if it was frustrating.
I hope this doesn't happen if I get attacked... I'd be podded for sure :(

Edited by: Apolas on 24/11/2006 00:50:15 My brother and I are having the same Undock problem. I've got a nvidia 7600gt and he's got a 7950gx2. We are both running windowed and that seems to have fixed it. Anyone found a solution to this error yet? We'd like to be able to run full screen.

Yes, I have the same problem as well... I put a ticket in on the issue, and it was "chalked off" as a ping issue. ccp suggested I upload and run a monitoring program to see where the trouble is, create a report, and mail it to them.
I have yet to do this, but I will put up the response here (when im at my own computer) and let you know how it turns out.
It looks to me as a plain old "crash to desktop" and I suspect it to be a video issue, if it's on my end...but I'm not sure yet. I'm running a brandy-new gateway with an nvidia pci express card in it... updated drivers, blah blah... so that seems like a slim chance...

In the last week or so (since the last patch?) I've seen CTD's every 3-4 undocks or jumps. Almost getting unplayable. Gonna have to figure out how to file a ticket tomorrow... Too tired now. Too much turkey... |

Dah, sorry didn't see this thread, replied in the other. Same problem. No disco, just plain instant sudden CTD that happens on undocking and jumping. Happens every 3rd or 4th playfield change (whether that be a jump or an undock).
Specs: Ath X2 4200 1GB DDR 7800GT 256MB X-Fi (the little one)
No OC, no temp issues, no issues in other applications.
