Edited by: Calculon on 16/11/2006 22:40:27 I've already responded to the majority of these accusations in a post that Boliknar made, and then had the mods lock located here. As such I'm not really going to make a long drawn out post here again, other than to quote my final post in that thread:
Quote: Alright, I'm going to keep this short. Brooks, Bear, Crystal, I appreciate the words guys, but let's just let that part of the thread die, as it's not really conducive to anything other than more flames.
At the end of the day people, here is what it comes down to...
For those who aren't involved in the situation, or don't know the parties involved, there will be one of three reactions:
1) Whoa, thief! 2) Whatever, proof please. 3) Drama.
For those who know all the parties involved in the situation, or are directly involved themselves, there will be one of two reactions:
1) OMG THIEF! 2) lol. As if he'd do something like that.
I've already seen it play out in-game in the five days since I supposedly "took the dread." The people who don't know me well are ambigious. The people who know me well and dislike me stand and shout, "SEE! SEE!" The people who know me well and like me smile, laugh, roll their eyes, and continue on with business as usual.
I'm content knowing that my friends will continue to stick by me, and my enemies will continue to shoot me. If something like this honestly makes a few of my friends question the relationship that we have, then that's their business and who could fault them for it. But I would hope that each of them knows me well enough to know that I may rub people the wrong way at times, I may be an ass on occasion, but taking a dreadnought like this just isn't something that I'd do.
I know what I did and didn't do. I also know that I could make up a similar list of "wrong doings" about just about anyone else in the eve-o community and potificate them as fact, as most of them are entirely circumstantial and unable to be proven. There's a difference between facts and fiction, and a difference between innocence and guilt. I'm guilty of a lot of things from my time in TSA, most notably being a rough-edged ass at times, being impatient with my fellow corp mates, cursing on occasion, and not being the most edifying member...but a corp thief I am not.
