I just tried playing EVE on my touchscreen monitor (22" Dell IPS) ... and it freaking rocks!
Using just one finger, it is possible to rapidly spin the camera and then double tap to reorient the ship. I have never been "pro" at manually flying EVE ships, but using a touchscreen I was able to fly around a can with tremendous ease in a fast frigate at close range.
If you have the cash to burn and want to try something new.. it was definitely an experience. I would keep a keyboard and mouse handy though! (Not responsible for lost shineys!)
The nerfs to supercaps will cause more super pilots to join the largest alliances who can properly "support" their deployment, further concentrating firepower/wealth in EVE. The end result will be fewer "fun" fights, and will hurt EVE in the long run. |

Reason why I'd love to see an android client for the new/more powerful tablets (i.e. Tegra 3, maybe Tegra 2). :)

Screw tablets. They don't have the horsepower or the battery life to support MMOs or graphically-intensive games. Then there's the cooling issue for the graphics card and the main processor (tablets don't have vents.)
Far too many issues that aren't going to get solved any time soon.

I wouldn't expect the graphical quality of the current PC version, but the latest tablets should be able to handly most stuff we've seen on consoles (or PC) some years ago. There was once a time where MMOs weren't about the most shiny graphics and it still worked. Main issue I see would be just the amount of work required to create a working client and keeping it maintained.

I'd be interested to see what developments they make for apps.
Having a tablet next to the monitor for some sort of interaction with the main client would be nice...
weapons control
market watching
intel alerts
number of Dust bunnies on a given planet that need orbital bombardment
eve-voice controls
fleet comms controls
or even
a big red button for warp.

you mean the tegra2 tablets that are flying off the shelf 
if ccp wants to go mobile, ipad is the only way, and thats based on sales and market share, not the fact that i prefer apple for mobile devices |

The video is Eve online fanfest 2011 ccp presents and the Guy is ar 49.20
I can't link ut since I'm on my Android
The video features the preview of some ships and a fitting screen
but not the full game, unfortunatly. He does though have the same
"app" on his phone.
Conclusion; i want this to aura (Android evemon). |

I don't think that necessarily true, either way I'd prefer something more widespread and allot less restricted then apple, like android. But that's me I guess.

I really wanted a touch screen when I first heard about them. First thing I thought was how sweet Eve would be with a touch screen. Than I went up to Bestbuy to check out a demo. That thing sucked!
Now here I am a couple years later with one. I guess I knew it was a touch screen when I bought it, but I didn't think about. Than one day I accidentally clicked on the Touch screen setup app, and I'm like WTF this is a touch screen? I didn't enable the feature. I look at my phone and ipod covered in finger prints, I don't want my monitor looking like that!
