Edited by: Protunia on 18/11/2006 05:02:32 I started 11 sept and had over 800k in 30 days. and that doing alittle learning skills to level 3-4 and i had +2 implants. Now at the present time 65 days later I have over 2 million SP.
Oh and dont they have a 14 days FREE trail?? yeah I remember messing around with that too during the last 2 months.
And if you so **** worried about it make a freaking new guy when Kali comes and stop yer whining.
Facts are if you started Oct 11 you should have over 1,300,000 SP before Kali comes unless you just screwed off the time.

Edited by: Protunia on 19/11/2006 06:30:03 Some how I think your figures are wrong. having a 50 day head start will always give you more SP no matter what. unless of course you dont train learnings.
A new player with all those nice skills are more likely to ignore the learning skills some which will give you more of an adv over time.
If you can roll a new player right now with 250-300k SP and after Kali 800k SP thats aonly 500K or so differnce.
So youre saying you cant be ahead of someone with a 50 day head start and only 500k SP to gain??
Somehow I find that hard to beleive. the only player I see that would suffer are the ones who have made a new character recently like in the last two weeks.
If you made a character 2 weeks before kali you would have 500-600k SP. Possibly more with the right attributes and skills.
3 weeeks before Kali?? more than likely you could have 700-800k SP
So saying you started 5-6 weeks ago means you should have over 1 million SP already unless you have ignored training skills at all times.
if you started a new guy with avg stats 7.8 and never raised any learning skills after 5 weeks youd have over 600-800k SP.
If you trained the basic learning skills to only +3 you have 900k - 1.1 mill SP in 5 weeks.
So again how far are you going to be behind?? when basically you have about 6.5 weeks head start?
Oh and thats not including any SP gained with additional points trough Implants.

Ok then I want my 600k SP too and I want the ability to change my attributes also. I also want to be able to move SP from skills I dont need to other skills. And I want more turret slots on my ships. I also want my alts to train at the same time as my main. I want all the money back I lost on bad deals. I want every thing handed to me because someone who might get a slight boost will be better than I was when I started.
etc, etc, etc............. My Character Stats |

Basically you are saying you want to nerf the kali character change.
why?? because you didnt get to start out with the same SP.
sounds abit selfish to me.
CCP is going to make the game more attractive for new comers and I think its great. More people will stay because they can actually do something other than what I had todo for over a month.
Not every one comes into the game with 0 ISK btw some people have friends or join corps that give them ISK and Implants to get a nice start.
Should we put a ban on people giving others ISK and Implants because not every one gets those at creation??
This whole thing is basically a self pity thread thats trying to stop something that is a great idea and makes some **** sense for a change instead of adding more skills to the learning tree that you have to waste more time to learn faster.

BTW they dont get an 800k boost. at best its a 500-550k boost. You get skills and SP right now when you create a new character.
You would have to pick a maxed specialized character to get 800k SP from the start with Kali. Just like you can get 300k now if you pick a specialized character.
So the difference is 500k basically from a specialized point of view.
I start on 9/11 its now 11/20 thats 70 days and I have 2.2 mill SP. Sure its 500k less than the new kali player might have after 70 days.
But for the last 70 days I have learned how to play the game and what todo where togo and more. At this time my est worth is well over 300 million ISK including all I have.
The New guy in Kali wont have 300 mill ISK unless its given to him. SO I am WAY ahead of him when he starts in EXP on how to play the game, total assests, and SP in my book. My Character Stats |

Originally by: Agent Li Hmm. I have three characters in my account, one of which I've been using and training for almost four weeks.
So, if I am somehow "behind" (I have about 450,000 sp right now, and increasing at 1255 SP/hour), I kill off one of the other two (that I haven't used), and recreate them, and they'll have 800K SP.
Then transfer the equipment and isk to the new character, and I'm done.
So, what's the downside for the guy making the complaint?
IMHO, I'm probably going to be ahead of 800K by the time Kali comes out with this.
Now, if I had 800K SP, and there was a way to pile it all into learning skills... but then I would be starting over again, just training faster.
I don't see the problem with any of this...
The down side of course, is that you will not be any more effective than a new player. You will have a very minor advantage in terms of money and game knowledge, but otherwise you will be on the same level as someone who just started playing EVE. In essence you have paid for a month, just to get the isk/assets that you have. If you're fine with this, great, then you have no problem with this huge jump in character creation. I for one am not fine with it.
BS!! hes paid to play the **** game.
In essence YOU have lost because YOU have no bright side of looking at things. YOU are lost in some self preserving mode of " Wheres Mine " No my friend Its YOU who needs to back up and take a new look.
If YOU paid and played YOU got what YOU had coming. My Character Stats |

Lets Examine this....
(You Pay + Subscription)*(Time^Fun)/(SP gained*Experience)+(Items*ISK) = What you had coming Knowing you paid to play??!

Of course the smartest thing you could do, if you really think the new n00b chars are uber to your char, is just make a NEW char under Kali and tranfer all assets to it. Problem SOLVED! Yay!
PS. Sorry if I said something someone else have said too. Got sick of this thread around page two.
A shame you don't want to read the thread because if you did you would realize that your great idea isn't even feasible. Rerolling means I lose all but the sellable assets I have, to keep going means that I am literally no better than a kali new player.
Anyways, since it seems there continue to be people who simply don't care about the cost (3 years playing...and you don't care whether 29 days of training is nullified by CCP... I'd never think that would be possible. What if CCP took away 2.5 years of your SP? would you care then?). I have gone and crunched numbers that include both the catchup gap between Kali and RMR, as well as the loss incurred for anyone who has trained the basic learning skills to level 5:
42 days after kali is released, the RMR character will be 92 days old. At this point the Kali character will have all skills the RMR did at release plus their bonus 800k. RMR will have had to spend 15 days learning the skills given to the Kali build. Also the RMR build would have trained Basic Level 5 learning skills to level V in 21.8 days, for a savings of 7.7 days every 4 months. Since Kali will not need to train these Level 5 skills they will miss out on this 7.7 day savings every 4 months.
92 (RMR total age) -21.8 (the learning skills that Kali doesn't need to train) +7.7 (4 month bonus in savings to RMR for training level V skills) -15 (days needed for RMR to catch up to Kali) ===== 62.9 (RMR effective age)
That means RMR will have spent 92 - 62.9 = 29.1 days training skills for no purpose.
This loss affects all characters who have the basic learning skills to level 5 no matter what their age. Understandably 3 year old players won't care because no matter what CCP does they'll still be subscribers so this issue really doesn't affect you.
Yes the options are:
a) Reroll at kali meaning you lose 20.9 days (plus however much/less old you are than the OP [50 days old at kali release]) of training and any implants and standing that you have
b) Keep going, accepting that you've spent 29.1 days training skills that CCP has kindly eliminated the need for
c) Leave, thumb your nose at CCP for not being open with their changes, or for ensuring their changes don't adversly affect existing users or especially new adopters
Take you pick. They all look like very promising choices..no?
ok your math seems abit foggy here how can you say you save 7.7 days then add it? if you save meaning less it should be a minus not a plus time. In truth I personally think your fudging numbers to make your case.
lets see raw math with out all the wording.
X+Y=Z
not ( because X has to be what I think Y is therefore it should be equal to Z). My Character Stats |

Edited by: Protunia on 26/11/2006 04:12:53 I think Memory is the same or less important than Charisma.
Say what you will but there are some very nice skills that need Charisma.
be glad you have when they release some new skills that every one will want later.
As far as this whole character thing goes.
