You can simply target them and shoot them. It really depends on your fit, and the ship your opponent is flying when deciding whether their drones are worth shooting.

-Can you break their tank before their drones can break yours? If so, overheat and try to pop their ship.
-If their drones do most of their DPS, and you can kill the drones before your tank inevitably breaks, do so.
-If they are kiting you while using drones to do their damage, shoot em.
-If their drones are just supplementing their main weapon system, in a thorax for example, they aren't worth shooting, unless of course you can get under their guns in a small ship.

 Hope that helps.

In low, null, or WH yes. If in high sec this can be very dangerous.
If your opponent is using a cloaky scout alt for finding his fights and you start sparking off smartbombs he can warp it in cloaked and slowboat into your bomb radius.
What happens after that is generally both tragic and hilarious.

my immmediate thought would be for you to keep a flight of worrier II's specifically for dealing with enemy drones,
Assuming the hull allows for it

But to be fair, OP gave us a very vague and broad question so you can say he doesn't have any specification on how to "deal" with drones.

I could say do it the goonie way and bring 10000 friends and crash the node while dying to 1 guy with a flight of drones because the FC got headshotted or something.

Stabs help you "escape" drones so that's one way to deal with them.

until they come out with warp scrambling drones I don't think you need stabs to get away from them.
Wait... they don't actually have warp scrambling drones, do they?

Aw, I kinda got a little excited there.
I think I may have to give some of the TD and neuting drones a shot... esp the neuting ones, as they seem like they'd be an excellent second flight for the ishkur.

In general meta knowledge will help you.

Can you out DPS his tank and tank his drones? If you are missle/rocket fit you should be able to (relatively) easily avoid any guns his fit has.

You also need to consider the type of drone. The higher the drone's DPS the slower it moves. You might be able to out run the drones, if the drones are fast than you let's hope you can tank them.

Personally I have found that missile and rockets are not good for killing drones before they kill you. I may have just had bad luck, not sure. Only go for the drones if you can't hit the ship is my rule of thumb.

If you are in a blaster or rail boat things change. You can't avoid enemy guns, but you'll have a much higher damage output. Caldari ships also tend to be decently tanky. What you need to be aware of vs drone boats is range control and energy neutralizers. No cap and you can't shoot. No range control and you can't apply damage.

That is why you're getting a lot of vague and varied answers here.

I would suggest asking your corp mates for advice, and look at specific situations too.

There are a lot of factors to consider.

It's not always worth it to shoot buffed drones off a drone boat, they can have as much combined ehp as the hull it'self when you factor in how much harder they are to hit.

 1) always kill gecko's unless you're confident you can win and you want to loot them
 2) if you can't hit the drone boat with your primary weapon, like if you're in a brawling ship and you're getting kited by a tristan obviously you might as well shoot his drones.
 3) Unbuffed drones from ships with only one flight. like if you're fighting a breacher they lose a lot of their dps when the drones are gone, same thing with most non-drone boats especially when they're tanky and the fight's going to last a while anyway.
