Well. It does fit. You could probably tank pretty well as long as you have a lot of cap boosters on hand.. It would probably work out ok. Each ship fit depends on the person flying it. I personally don't like the added expense (both ISK and cargo real estate) of cap booster charges, but you might be okay with it. You're best off to give it a try and see what you'd like to adjust.

This set up is good, but you are gonn have a hard time with level 4s. I would lose a PDS for a DCU Also the 3 x Invul. Fields should be replaced for Rat specific hardeners. Also lose the booster amp for a 4th hardener.
Make sure to keep enough booster charges to allow you to run your shield booster for several seconds at a time. ------------------------------------- Proud member of G Guild! |

You don't say how skilled you are but even if fairly well trained up I would think you will struggle on some lvl 4 missions with this setup. The C5-L booster uses the same cap as the Xlarge T2 unit but over 4 secs instead of 5. Given that the boost amount is the same per sec at 120hp all you are doing with this unit is running your cap down faster and as anyone who has used a T2 xlarge will know cap disappears fast when run for extended periods. I would suggest the following mods to your setup
Highs Ok
Mids T2 Xl booster Shield amp, T2 if you can fit it, or extra rat specific hard 2 rat specific hards 2 x cap recharger T2
Lows should then be Prob 2 or 3 PDS 2 dependent on skills 2 or 3 BCU dependent on number of PDS.
As a guide when using invuls 2 x DG invuls gives good resists, pleanty good enough for most if not all lvl 4 missions without having to change setups, this means you can then definitly fit a SB amp further improving your tank.

Edited by: d026 on 20/11/2006 01:59:49 if you realy want to have a good tank do this: mids: gist xl booster, dg boost amp, 4 x rat specific hardeners lows: 3 x bcu, 2 x pdu (im going with 4-5 bcus)
tanks like mad and you wont need a cap booster/cap recharger. also i change drones tp the appropriate rat specific damage.

I don't think this would fit without swapping out for some faction or dropping back to named on some parts. With T2 hardeners and T2 BCUs, wouldn't only one BCU fit? The cpu reqs on that T2 XL booster make it kind of a hard sell.

I would suggest you magic up 60 more CPU on a Raven to make that a worthwhile argument.
T2 may provide better boosting stats, but at a cost; and that cost is seriously harsh fitting requirements compared to other boosters. ---

Granted, I accept that the cpu requirements of my suggestion maybe a little over ambitious but my post was only meant as a guide as to what might be an improvement, whether this means the T2 cruise would need to be swapped for Arbalest cruise at a saving of 18 cpu per launcher is upto the poster, given that the base rof is exactly the same even with lvl 5 Cruise Missile specialization you only achieve a 10% rof bonus for a lot of training are they worth it. Also Arby's at present are helf the cost of the T2 unit.

Hmm that looks hellishly expensive and not nearly as effective as using rat specific hardeners...
My rig is all tech 1 except 1 piece and I haven't run across a Lvl 4 I can't do yet:
Highs: 6x Named Siege 2x Named 250mm Rails
Mids: - Invuln I - Rat specific Hardener (Usually EM I get a lot of angel / sansha's lately) - Rat Specific Hardener (Usually thermal) - Kinetic Enhancer - Lg Shield boost (Named) - Shield Boost Amp
Lows: - Damage Control I (Named) - BCU II (My lone Tech 2 item) - PDS - PDS - PDS or an Overdrive or a Nano
I don't loot in the ship. I finish up a mission go to station and come back in a nano'd and afterburner equipped MKII with 2 tractors mounted to loot. Goes 10x faster and I then go finish the mission for the reward.
I'm sure this can be tweaked, hope some make suggestions (please avoid any Tech 2 items though.... I'm both broke and not skilled enough to use most Tech 2 yet.)

I've seen some horrible raven setups out there, yours isnt the worst, it's not even close. But it's still not in the "hey this makes sence" range of the spectrum. It's quite obvious from your equipment choice that you're insanely overskilled for l4s, as most people are, and as most people know a retarded lemur with tourettes can do missions just fine in a raven with that kind of sp backing it. So, my comments on your setup are not for 'being able to do xxxx', but more doing it more efficiently.
get a t2 xlarge boost, drop 1 pdu for a dc, or 2 pdus for a dc and another bcu. Lose the nos, gain a drone link aug and an offline tractor that you can online on some missions when having your lootbot come in is less efficient. Rat hards are just common sence, but I mean whatever, im sure you have the money to replace the raven when that dinky 3 invuln tank fails. Keep the booster if you want, but most any other passive module would undoubtably give you more benefit.

heres the set up that has yet to fail me at flying level 4's in a raven, and ive been using the same setup with t1 gear and with bs level 2.
High's
6x Cruiser missles.
Mid's
1x XL shield booster 1x Shield amp 4x Mission npc spesific hardeners. (yes i use 4 :-p)
Low's
1x bcu 2x pdu 1x lovely suit case. (dmg control)
now this is the gear ive used since my 1st Level 4 mission when i just got the raven. but it will make the mission time consuming and u have to allign always to the station to warp out asap if anything turns bad.
i advice, as soon as u can. use t2 gear of the above. MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE :-)
-edit- and mission npc drones too ha! :-D -edit- ehh i see u have most t2 gear there.... nm -_-
