About 2 hours before this unexpected downtime a friend's hurricane exploded but did not produce a pod so he logged out....then magically the hurricane appeared on D-scan, it was probed down and found at 20% hull with full shields.....database win!

I got the first "You cannot leave system yet because of instability in the space-time continuum. Please try again in a moment." message at 13:55 EVE time.
From there things got worse over a timespan of several hours. First more "space-time continuum" messages, then noticeable lag on some gate jumps, then lag when moving items and finally market and wallet stopped working.
About 20 minutes before you took down the server people in chat channels were already asking each other how long we would have 'til the impeding emergency reboot.
If these issues appeared sudden to you, you really need better monitoring of server health.
There is no excuse for not giving us at least 15min notice before taking down the servers - at that point normal gameplay was already barely possible. |
