I recently managed to get my skills up to be able to use a Buzzard with a Covered Ops Cloaking Device. Nice stuff! Its fun to sneak around and to surprise unsuspecting pilots ... but ...
ok, i got the skills, but now i must _learn_ to use it properly. So i am looking for advice - what can i actually do with that ship? how do i learn to use it the "right" way?

Scout.
Then your friends warp in and kill.
You don't fly it solo.

They are mostly good for sneaking into enemy territory and keeping the miners paranoid.

apart from finding pawn targets, it's a nice exploration ship (or trading small stuff in hostile territory). But I personally love the Cheetah much more (would only just like to #$#!@@! the person who made him a dish antena in front - I mean dish antena??? in eve??? just like a satellite tv on your cover ops ship )

The one thing that makes the buzzard worthwhile is it's ability to drop Cynosural fields. From there, your corp's carrier fleet can jump in and dispense with the whoopass. However, that does require being in a corp/alliance that is rich/powerful enough to support multiple carriers.
They're also good for scouting and the like. And for feeling ninja when you're floating 2500m from an enemy battle fleet, berating them in local just to **** them off. Proud member of Lunar Dawn.

Hey, I like the dish antenna. If i could only fit an AC on the left hand side it would be perfect. I could run around shouting EXTERMINATE! EXTERMINATE! in local.
A dish is perfect as a directional capture device. A few million years ain't gonna change that.

If you can't figure out what you should be doing with the ship and the 60m covert ops cloaking device, then I really don't think you should be using it!
Buzzard is such an amazing ship, it's close to being ridiculous!

Edited by: TheDevilsJury on 22/11/2006 02:51:27 You use the Buzzard for sneaking around (making your valuable cargo invincible), scouting out enemies for your friends (who are flying the heavy damage pwnmobiles), and as a prerequisite for the Falcon (or another race's Recon Ship, like the Pilgrim).
Recons will probably more your cup of tea than Cov Ops if you can't figure out what to do with it.

Edited by: Dahin on 22/11/2006 05:19:20 The only acceptable use I have seen in the buzzard (compared to the other covops) is combat scouting on belts.
You fit something like 3 scrams + 1 racial jammer and you go hunting with your buddies in hostile space. You're the first to enter the sol and check belts. The extra midslot can allow you to engage and scramble a hostile raven while your gang jumps and warps in. 6 points can hold all but the most dedicated stab*****s, and the racial gives you much better chances of survival.
This style was suicidal to me months ago when cloaks costed 30m. Now it's even more suicidal, but I was forced to admit that it can successfully fullfill this role and provide something more compared to the traditional fitting of covops'. (when local grows up by one-two the targets seem to run away).
EDIT: for any of the traditional covops uses, the buzzard is bad in every aspect. Switch for helios (lvl4 covops) or even cheetah (lvl5 covops).
