Edited by: Marsha11 on 22/11/2006 15:53:52 I have only checked the 1400mm howiter II's as thats all i use, but the damage has gone from base 6.9x to 7.245. Thats a 5% increase.
Not sure how that effects much considering the ammo got nerfed to crap and the hitpoint boost takes away the alpha-strike which is supposed to be what artillery do. But at least there was a small attempt...
Im still annoyed i have trained projeciles for 6 months and got just over 7 million skillpoints in gunnery only to find they have been rendered near useless. Ho Hum. 
I have no idea if autocannons got a boost to damage too.

Tux said in a previous post he was gonna increase the damage by 5% so I guess he has.

Yup, he said he'd increase damage by 5%. The alpha's importance is largely gone, which was the main reason for high alpha and slightly lower dps. The dps of arty's was approx 5% lower than 425's, so now they should be similar.
Projectiles are not useless, nor worse of than any other weapon system, the only difference is that alpha isn't as important, and instead arty's recieved +5% damage.
AC's aren't dependant on alpha so i assume they aren't changed.

Yeah, they upped the damage with 5%. Not that anyone will notice the difference with the hitpoint boost, but.. at least its fair.

Very sad. Please redraw projectiles and make them different because both autocannon and artilleries are the unlucky brothers of blaster and railgun respectively.

Hey, with projectile guns you can choose your combat range and damage type freely - Within limitations like exp+kin for T2 ammo, but you can. --*=*=*--

bull****, for arties you choose ammo according to range, not range according to ammo
when was the last time your fc said, hey lets go in at this range so minnis can change their damage type
if you are solo sniping then you will either choose the highest damage ammo or you choose a distance at which you deem yourself "safe"
in neither case you choose the ammo for its damage type
