Edited by: Linoleum on 22/11/2006 22:38:18 Hi. ok , so I have runned lvl 2/lvl 3 mission for the last few days , to finaly be able to use a lvl 4 storage agent ! But what a suprise : all those mission sucks ! I mean , they are all the same as the lvl 2 or lvl 3 . exemple : lvl 2 or lvl 3 : move about 100 m3 of stuff 4 jump away .. lvl 4 : same ! and it give not even 1 M isk and about 300 LP ... I have been able to do my lvl2 , lvl 3 , and now lvl 4 in a vigil ! I think it is not normal so , are lvl 4 storage mission broken atm ? they are definitely not as interesting (in LP/isk earning) as the "fighting" divison lvl4 agents . :( --------------------------------------------------

Almost all (npc) courier missions were removed with the last major update. A few small ones were added quite a bit later, one or perhaps two bigger ones have been added (moving a 5000m3 item). The only surviving large courier mission from pre-update days is Insane Industrialists - moving roughly 2.5 million units of tritanium around.
The reason to run courier missions is to cash in on the frequency of storyline missions.

There was a comment by a Dev in a post a couple of weeks back acnowledging the courier missions need attention, however he stated that it would be kali 2 before this would occur.

I do upward of 20 couriers a day and although usually in a Viator when requesting, have seen no correlation between types of missions offered and ship flown. There are a very limited number of missions available and all are offered, albeit with a warning if the ships capacity is too small.

yes, that's a good topic that you give here. but at then end, some guys says they dont have the "bugged" mission ... well, lucky they are... I can't beleve that CCP want to fix it just with kali 2 ... it's so far --------------------------------------------------

Yeah. To be honest, I don't mind the "small" missions any more, as the rewards are good considering the time spent.
I do think CCP should prioritize fixing this, because it IS damaging the game in its current form - It's way too easy to nanoceptor-farm missions to get lots of storylines. Even without the storylines, the missions have great rewards for something that can be done semi-afk while watching TV. I think level 4 couriers do need larger rewards, but they also need larger difficulty to go with that. (Insane Industrialists is a good example of proper size/reward for a Level 4 courier mission, as was Multiple Deliveries when it existed.)

Why would someone who is interested in courier missions want to do combat missions? they are "chalk and cheese" What is needed is more involving and difficult transport/trade missions not more shooty shooty. Someone who spends a month skilling for Transport ship/freighter with the intention of doing courier missions probobly would have spent that time on BS IV and gunnery instead if wanting combat!!

I have already combat mission with angel command agent, but I simply wanted to try something different , as I got iteron IV and carrier with a friend who can do cyno. But that's obvious that a character only skilled in industrial , and who want to be specialised in courier mission is really disavantadged with this kind of mission. I 100 % agree with Contralto --------------------------------------------------

Be happy about useless L4 courier missions until at least april '07 ... No volume to move, no rewards, no standing boost of any significant amount. And on top those missions seem to mostly avoid the entry points into lowsec.
The devs somehow totally forgot to replace the courier missions when they removed the old mission system. They even broke nearly all cosmos storylines. At least most of those have been repaired. --*=*=*--
The cause for this is not yet known, but we do have a possible fix in testing. by Sharkbait | 2006.09.20 |
