Big hole here: if he's KOS in nva space, and he's LEFT nva space, and was killed OUTSIDE nva space, i don't understand your response at all.
You've gone on these boards from thoughtful, funny, clever, baiting and skilled rhetoric and polemic to "you disagree! You die! you call me name! you die too!"
Disenheartening.
if you think he's a pirate alt, say so. if you have a trigger happy corpmate and oh well, say so.
but i can read, and i can read him saying "you told me to leave i did and you killed me outside nva space," and you saying "we told you to leave and we'll kill whom we want in our space and anyway you called us names so now we kill you how convenient." And i know you're smarter than that. So that makes me suspect Something's Up.

First, we do think he's a pirate alt, or at least a collaberator. We've said that.
Secondly, he was already KOS by last night, meaning we will happily kill him wherever we find him.
Third, we do not always make public all the information we have at our disposal regarding certain players.
Finally, it should be telling that Helmett's own corporation decided to wash their hands of him.

don't know what corp he was in.
helmett doesn't matter to me. the fact that the response sorta degenerated into 'oh yeah, you called us names, you die' did, as that's just silly. I realize this is not probably how it was intended to come across, which is why i posted..!

Bad Harlequin,
The NVA has a couple of territorial claim categories.
In Venal proper and the northern regions we claim sovereignty and have currently closed the region due to the war threat. Presence here by non-NVA and non-ally is considered reason enough for default KOS in the current climate. Though polite and sensible travellers will generally get warned and asked to leave.
In Pureblind and K-Tay we claim protectorate. This means that while neutrals may come and go as they chose. KOS people will get vaporised without question here by NVA fleets.
Dark Helmett went KOS due to his actions and attitude. Thus he was knocked out in Protectorate zone.
For the record yes, we certainly had cause to believe he was either a pirate alt or pirate aligned agitator.
Quote: Those who kill to silence are hiding something.
Well, we don't do much hiding, having published the access rules and KOS and F&F list.
Quote: Big hole here: if he's KOS in nva space, and he's LEFT nva space, and was killed OUTSIDE nva space, i don't understand your response at all.
I hope my explanation about the protectorate status makes this clear. KOS is pretty much KOS.

It was late in the early hours m'dear, but in our defence I will say the matter was swiftly debated in our security council and we chose made to make it abundantly clear this time that "appeal to the forum" whinge-fests will not gain very much sympathy at all.
Quote: if you think he's a pirate alt, say so. if you have a trigger happy corpmate and oh well, say so.
Sometimes these things will not be made clear from a desire to protect our intel and sensitive info sources.
Quote: And i know you're smarter than that. So that makes me suspect Something's Up.
On that you were certainly right. The office saga the day before put us on alert as did Dark Helmets arrival immediately before the Biomice raiding fleet. And of course in retrospect yes, we remembered that Dark Helmet has done this kind of thing before.
I think our suspicions are more or less proved out with his swift "defection" to the "dork side" today.
Postscript. Nexus Enterprises have booted him from the corp and opened negotiations with the NVA that have led to their immediate suspension from the KOS list.
Reasoned diplomacy works.
Forum whinging doesn't.
Thats the point we'd like to make.

The entire corp needs to be KOS for the fact that they went to Venal and purchased an office. How naive can you be?

The office purchase was an entirely seperate issue that has already been resolved. Both sides are coming out of this mess in a stronger position than before. For any NVA people who wish clarification on this matter, please contact myself or Jade.
As for Mr. Helmett, he was released from my corp for failing to let the directors handle the situation through pre-established in game channels. He turned what should have been a minor trespassing violation into a spectacle of nonsense by his multiple posts on these boards. And, yes, it is true that he was only with the company for barely one day.
I wish him good luck in his 'pirate career'.
Jade was correct in her earlier post that diplomacy does work and I would like to thank her and the NVA leadership again for helping bring this matter to a close. _____ CLS Civil Affairs Bureau

I think you explained it pretty good with "...they went to Venal..." You DO know it's off limits to outsiders, right?

We seriously need a 'Hall of Fame' forum for certain threads. This particular discussion is a perfect snapshot of the microcosm of Eve politics and diplomacy.

I must admit I kinda enjoyed this one. Was quick, to the point, and got the job done. Boy oh boy do I wish some of my enemies would learn the lesson and lie down when they are dead.
