Can't even think of an alliance that you could be confusing the name with to be honest. |

ok .. checked the alliances that are in EVE ... no EVE global alliance
found only a corp called "EVE global alliance" .. description: elite corp member count: 9 founder: reeb .. his employment history and security status direct in the direction antipirate/missionrunner .. after checking his standings i'd say - hardcore missionrunner for amarr empire
so i'd say: they are a small missionrunning corp with some RP aspects - maybe some small anti-piracy endevours ___________________

Hi evistin,
Eve Global alliance, of which I was a member for a short amount of time, was a reasonably sized corp, based (during my stay) in derelik low sec sometimes making trips into curse and delve (complex running if i recall ). We did some pvp / mission running / pos mining, kind of a bit of everything.
Most of us moved on over a year ago to various other corps, most of the senior members ended up in RKK as far as I recall. A few others are scattered about in other corps alliances too.
Hope that helps.

Originally by: evistin Whats the story about them, I heard the name here and there but most people know nothing about it.
I was a member of the corporation "Eve Global Alliance" [EGA] and can give you some history run down on them:
The corp was founded by Reeb in August 2003, but for the most part it was run by Diomorph as CEO and Menth as Director. In the earlier days the we were just doing the empire stuff: Mining, building, NPC'ing, doing missions and plexes and at one time we also had a few POS's sprinkled around in southern Derelik. Bases were Yuzier, Hothomouth and Maspah.
In May/June 2004 (if my memory recalls correctly) when Istvaan Shogaatsu returned to Eve his "Black Monkey" corp declared war on one of our mate's industrial corps in Derelik. Eve Global Alliance and a few other corporations teamed up and tried to assist, but to be honest: Back then our experience with PVP was quite limited. We had a few fun fights and out blobbed the Monkeys, but in the end we didn't make a difference. Off and on we ventured into the slums of Eve (Providence) for mining / ratting, or seeking engagements with Corp1 and other pirate corps residing in lower Delve.
Soon after the Monkey episode was over, there was a phase of mergers when several corps in Derelik merged with Eve Global Alliance, including the corp I was in back then.
In the fall of 2004 elements of [EGA] participated in the GNW campaign, which I sadly missed due to RL duties. When I came back from my brief Eve hiatus after the GNW, [EGA] was part of the alliance "Fade Union" [FU] (actually the 2nd Fade Union) and most of our more active member base had shifted from Delve to Fade, where we stayed approximately from late October 2004 to early January 2005.
For some of our members up there it was the first true 0.0 experience and it was quite a steep learning curve, because some of that brown smelly stuff hit the fan right away. It can be read up here:
Fade Union, NSA vs BoB
So soon after setting up shop in Fade, we were hit in earnest by some of the best PVP'ers in game. If you check the BoB Killboard alone, BoB racked up at least 7:1 kills per death against FU, although the stats are incomplete as it wasn't just BoB who attacked FU. All in all: They slaughtered us and our big ally NSA turned it's cold shoulder to FU because they knew they'd be next on the list and wanted to delay the inevitable.
In January 2005 FU disbanded. Some of the premiere members of it (the ex-CA corps) formed CDC and Eve Global Alliance headed back to Delve for R&R. Meanwhile we had licked blood and wanted more of 0.0 - but that wasn't trued for the entire member base. So we formed the "Eve Global Alliance Industry" [EGAI] and the non-PVP inclined members and our production alts joined that one instead. Two of our more PVP experienced members left for other directions (Bannion joined CELES, Soul Dancer went to Alcatratz, Inc.)
EGA then joined Fountain Alliance as trial members and relocated to 5-6 in Delve as part of the "Delve Defense Force". My (then) primary combat alt Indesin stayed for around 2 weeks in Delve, fighting against ATUK, MC and BoB. After the first 3-4 fleet ops with my new mates I turned to my CEO and said that I'd rather not be fighting with 'em any more because of the lack of organisation, lack of voice comms and sorry state of FC'ing. Back up in Fade we may have been slaughtered, but our FC's were some of the best you could find outside BoB (kudos to Mchalin). Down in Delve on the other hand it was utter chaos and disorganisation. One needed no hindsight to see that FA was doomed.
So I packed up shop and headed back to Derelik. Diomorph and Menth stayed until the end. During summer and fall of 2005 EGA lost a bit of direction and the hard core members eventually started to drift away. Between September 2005 and January 2006 most of us joined Reikoku [BoB] and EGA itself has been dormant since then.

I really like the fact that DBP's stories in the RKK forums have a lot of CAOD threads from the old times linked in them. It's the funniest thing to read those and observe inconsistencies between the words and actions of people over the years. Ofc, the game evolves fast and switching sides is not uncommon, but that only means people should take care not to talk too big for fear of being unable to deliver.
When i see how people from every possible side would argue with such passion, only to join the ranks of their enemy 1-2 years down the line, i can't help but chuckle. Of course, this hilarity ensues mainly from the fact that corp and alliance info for each poster is dynamically updated. Comments like "Yeah, but now Bob is their daddy. self respect > crokite" and when you look at the avatar it displays a BoB ticker, to name a single example
In any case, the stories are a nice read...blast from the past from those who lived these events, a nice summary for those not involved (the GNW was all the hype and almost ending when i started playing) and a very different image of BoB than what they project here.

Blast from the past there, I remember EGA, good chaps, who sadly left the mess of Fade Union, to end up in Delve and the mess that was FA.
Oddly, a lot of the people from Delve ended up in BoB ;)
Shame I don't have time to fly with ya folks anymore :(

The usage of "global" is correct when referring to things which do involve the Planet Earth as one single unit, for example: global maps, global weather patterns, global satellite photos.

I thought that EVE was just a cluster within the galaxy, or we'd have less trouble with that whole cut off from earth/old humanity dealio.
